I am 19 weeks pregnant and just took my glucose test for gestational diabetes. My doctor said that my test came back positive but was too soon to diagnose me with gestational diabetes, so said I have Impaired Glucose Tolerance. Has anyone had to deal with this while pregnant?

Oh yeah, did you do the one hr. test? Mine came out with high numbers too, what is next is that you will have to do another glucola test but this time it will take 3 hrs. I have gestational diabetes and I have to check my blood sugar 4 times a day until the baby is born. Your baby will be fine, do not worry about it, the only direct threat is that your baby can be born with low blood sugar or it can be a really big baby. Don't stress over it, it will be fine, it will go away after the baby is born.

I'm 33 weeks and have gestational diabetes...it's not a big deal if you do what the doctor says...they sent me to a dietician and now I'm on a special diet...I have to count carbs and eat 6 times a day...My doctor is cool..he doesn't make me poke my finger 4 times a day..I just go in once a week..and they draw blood before I eat and then 1 hour after I eat...I've only gained 19 lbs so far cause it teaches you to eat healthy...I have to go to the doctor weekly from this week until I have him so they can do a Non Stress test and make sure he's doing ok....but overall...it's really not that bad...just takes a little more effort then normal

i just did the 3 hour test yesterday because my first one came back abnormal.form what i hear alot of the first tests come back abnormal and theres no problem.i sat and freaked out about it for a while then said owell.ill just have to deal with it when it comes.stressing isnt going to do me any good!yuoll probly have to do the 3 hour test soon and then youll know for sure!i hope everythings fine and even if it comes back positive youll be just fine!its better to know anyways.my neices doc missed her having it and she had a 10 and a half pound baby that had complications.theyre fine now but they wouldve been better had they known!!
