Liverpool is an excellent city for Uni. Lots of Irish in Liverpool too - as they decended from Ireland originally. The city is actually one of the safest places to go out at night too - poll survey proved this. Also most people who study in Liverpool don't move away. It is also won the Capital of Culture 2008 - people are lovely too.

Also from Ireland and contemplated both Liverpool and Manchester when deciding on a uni.
It completely depends on what course you plan on doing.
I'm a qualified teacher now, and found it was better to do the whole thing in Ireland, as the qualifications are recognised world wide, as opposed to the British qualification which has some limitations. (no offence intended)
If it's something scientific or an engineering based course, then I'd say Liverpool would be a great choice.
Keep in mind though that you won't receive any financial support from the government there, so it might be financially less stressful to study here.
Also, if you plan on travelling when you have your degree, check that your qualification will be valid.
Finally, ensure that you don't need "unnecessary" further study when you're finished. (By that I mean you get a diploma when you think you're getting a degree...)
Good Luck with your choice, and if you do decide on Liverpool, have a great time. It's not the nicest looking city, but it has character, atmosphere and the people are absolutely lovely.

I am from Liverpool, and the Universitys are getting bigger and better every year.
How people can say that Liverpool is a horrible place, I don't know, you must never have been there!
Yes, there are some areas that aren't as nice...but isnt that the same for every major city?
The people of Liverpool are so friendly it is unbelievable, and as already mentioned, there are a lot of Irish people there.
Nightlife is fantastic, I would highly recommend it!

Do you mean university? The uni has got an good reputation, not mega-impressive, but I think it's well regarded. I don't like the city at all, but that's just me. If you want universities with a good reputation but below Oxbridge level (they're bastards anyway, I interviewed there and they were HORRIBLE) try Durham, Birmingham, Nottingham, Cardiff, Endinburgh, St Andrews and York, and I guess Liverpool too. I went to Birmingham, it's gorgeous, great city, really friendly, great night life and the campus is lovely, all Victoria redbrick. I'm biased though!

i actual do no longer understand what game do you appreciate extra. and how plenty a fan are you, in case you purely prefer communities that continuously win, alabama, florida, OSU, USC(even although next 12 months many is doubting them), OSU, and Texas. this is for soccer, if basketball you're able to be able to help UCLA, UNC, Duke, Kentucky of Kansas, they have custom in basketball. yet being in eire, i might say that Notre Dame struggling with Irish, they have great traditions, the college is in simple terms rebounding yet has a great soccer team, they compete in the arguably terrific basketball convention-huge East. And Notre Dame and Alabama is competing for many championship,(some says ND some says Alabama, reckoning on which you prefer to have faith), maximum hall of famer, tied for many heisman winner. and that they have this Play Like a Champion, TD Jesus, Golden Dome, Helmets painted in Gold dirt, and you're able to be able to purely watch the movie RUDY to benefit extra on the subject of the team.
