1st I am American. I do not have a thing against Britain, the UK, or any other country. I do agree our Big Brother policy is outdated and needs to be put in check. I have visited Britain, a few times while serving in the Us Navy. I got a chance to see Man United play football. I can not recall who they played it has been a few years. I enjoy football(soccer) I have played all my life. So, we have a common bound per say there.
I believe it is a political issue in the govt, then the actual people hating the world. Then the people jump on the bandwagon without reviewing the other side and getting a unbiased opinion for themselves.
I have even tried out to play in the MLS here in America. I did not make it. I will try again. Granted it is nothing on the English leagues, or the Serie A, Bundguleisa, etc etc. European football is some of the best if not the best football in the world.
Thanks
Have a good day

Probably the same reason the French, Germans, English and Italians and Japanese and Chinese and Iranians think they're so much better than everyone else. It's human nature.
It's just that the United States is such a powerful economic and military force (or bully) that it's probably even more annoying to others.
Superiority is Universal. It's human nature.
It's like driving. When someone cuts us off, we get pissed because that person had no regard for us. It's like they think they are better or more entitled. Given its power and influence, the United States has more opportunities to cut other people off on the political and economic highways.
They piss off more people.

Most Americans do not feel they are better than everybody else, but their is such a thing as American Pride, just as I am sure their is British Pride, French Pride, etc. We DO know that few enjoy a higher average standard of living (that may not be such a good thing). I know their is no place in the world I would rather live (If I had to pick another it's a toss up between Japan and Australia). I am sure their are some Americans who feel superior, but they are the minority of Americans. We all know we trace our own roots back to Europe and elsewhere

I am an American and damn proud of it! Why exactly are you telling me what I think? Clearly you feel inferior by posting the question "Americans think they are so much better than everyone else". How can you make such a general statement considering there are 300 million people living in America? I can assure you that we " all " do not share the same opinion.
Europes population continues to grow and will at an unprecedented level over the next 25 years. Unfortunately this is causing huge strains in health care, employment, and retirement. Could it be possible that you are not happy with the status of your own country and are jealous? I certainly hope not. I love my European friends and certainly don't feel superior to them. I am 41 and think I speak for the majority in my age group. Hope that helps.

The problem is that America is, to the most part, internalized. I.E. They only get to play against other Americans. Also, they do not, as a whole, tend to bother with non American issues. This is because of Americas size. Many of their states are the size of many of our countries. Their just isn't the iincentive to look at what happens elsewhere.
Also, it is a completely different culture. Many Brits think we are the same because we speak the same language, but culturally, we have more in common with the French, or Germans than we do with the Americans.
A part of this culture is success. Motivation and a positive attitude are percieved as essential in order to achieve the desired outcome. You therefore need to do a lot of crowing in order to gear yourself up to achieving the goal.
All said and done, their American. What more can be said.

Becoz they think and feel like the US is the only country and US citizens are the owners of the world. They always want to sell their NBA, Nascar, Golf, American football and Baseball to other national TV's and unfortunately they are succesfull. I m happy with EPL, UEFA CL and F1 and I do not need any American games.
I dont mean that I m against US, on the other hand I love Mc Donalds :)
Tanx for this Q.
Good luck...

I think sometimes people just need to be humble and respect others. Even though American may be really smart, they should not use it to impose thier standard on others. Like one of the sayings, "The higher we get, the humbler we should be".
