Say I'm wandering through a local park, and I seen an attractive girl in the park, generally sitting. She might be reading or listening to an ipod, or whatever.
If I want to approach this girl, what should I do? And do you consider it rude if a guy trys to interrupt what you're doing? Should he wait to see if you notice him?

Go sit next to her. Ask her if she minds, if she stop talking to you after you sat down, then she is not interested. You will see it in her body language.

I think you should go and chat, but be very careful bout what you say, there are so many feaks out there these days the girl could quite easily feel uncomfortable.
Best thing to do is, say sorry for interupting her, you spotted her from afar and find her attractive. Ask her her name, and offer your number to her. Then say your'll leave any further contact to her so as not to freak her out. That way if she thought you was nice back then she will contact you.

If she's sitting, it might be okay, but if she's sitting coz she's been walking or something, you might let her rest. Also, is she the only other person in the park? She might be a bit afraid of you at first.

start with "excuse"... and good day.... than ask about if she is interested to talk ... if positive...go ahead and try to discover about her and the things she likes to do, to listen, places, good luck

stop almost directly in front of her and tie your shoe, complement her book or what ever she has and then say hi there i am so and so nice day today isn't it.

Just ask her "May I know you please?" and start chatting with her if she is interested.
