I used to use a 20 hp 2-stroke on a 14 ft aluminum boat to pull 10 - 14 yr old kids on knee boards and skis. The boat seemed to handle the stress ok ... I added a knee brace at the middle of the transom to the floorboard and keel in order to transfer the extra stress. The weight of the outboard wasn't a problem .. I used a tiller extension and had a spotter in the bow.

You can do it, but you would have to ballast the bow and tilt the enging down to keep her trim. Check the certification plate, it will tell you how big an engine is allowed for the boat.

sounds shaky to me. most 14' boats won't hold a 25hp motor in the first place. try it in a place you can retrieve everything if things go wrong.

Yes by all means tie it off, but not to the transom.... Jim
