I have read both Eragon and the sequel, Eldest, and enjoyed both of them very much. I am looking forward to the final book of this trilogy. The final book is still being written and does not yet have a projected release date. But the first book was published by Knopf in 2003 and the second book was published in 2005. So hopefully the next and final book of the trilogy will be ready sometime in 2007.
Did you know Eragon was originally published by his family before the Knopf Publishing Company bought the rights? Did you know that copies of that first book sell for more than $1000 if signed by Christopher? I recently saw one for sale at nearly $6,000. I don't think it sold, though. You can look at that information wherever you can find new and used books for sale on the Internet.
There is an excellent site that shows movie trailers, etc. at http://www.alagaesia.com/ Nothing is for sale on that site. But since it is the official site for the Inheritance series of books by Christopher Paolini, there is tons of information. There is a really nice interactive map of Alagaesia where you can click on a place and find out more information about it. If you would like to know more about the books or this young author, I highly recommend taking a look at the site.
I can't wait for the next book to come out.

I have read "Eragon" but it was two years ago; I have also read the sequel "Eldest".
At first I was really annoyed with how Christopher Paolini "stole" images and ideas from other fantasy books. But I suppose everyone does that; even the "Harry Potter" books began as a mix of books we had all read before, and no-one minded!
I think Paolini did a great job with "Eragon" and an even better job with "Eldest". It is a hard genre in which to be fresh, and at Paolini's age, we can expect many more great things to come!
I love Sapphira; for me, she keeps the story alive and keeps me wanting to come back for more!
I also didn't know there had been a film made. Hope it does the book justice!
Actually, I would have loved to see the Studio Ghibli team make an anime of Eragon ...

Eragon is a novel written by Christopher Paolini, and is the first book of the Inheritance trilogy. Eragon's sequel is Eldest, and the third book has not been released or named. It is set in the fantastical land of Alagaësia, and is a story about dragons. Eragon was adapted into a film due for release December 15, 2006.
Not Yet. Looking for one at the moment.
Just bought the game yesterday and seen the Promo version on cinema last week.

yeah i did, don't you think it was somewhat like "Dragon Rider" and also the series by Mercedes Lackey. Anyway. i loved that he portrayed Saphira the dragon as almost a human being with a personality and sophistication and the not the usual thing with dragons being evil. I liked how he described the dragon Saphira and the ordinary things in Eragon's life before he became a Dragon Rider. I liked the part about burying Eragon's teacher, it was very well done. The end was quite cool.In my opinion the sequel was not as good, because he kept drooling all over Aarya the elf princess. Anyway, I am going to watch the movie when it comes out! I hope it is as good as it sounds.

I have just finished the second one (Eldest) about an hour ago, and I am totally hooked on both!! I can't wait for the movie, and the next book! The funny thing was, I bought the first book as a present for my brother about a year and a half ago, but didn't read it myself, and only started reading the first one after I went to the cinema a few weeks ago, and saw how good the preview looked!!
