Easy how much does our society focus on look and and clothing brands? Media has pounded in our brain that a certin look is cool and what should be worn and all that happy horse poo then everyone goes out and buys it and if the ppl who can't afford to buy it don't have it then they are ridaculed and made to feel like an outcast and no one likes that. And cuz thier stupid cuz they give in to crap like that

There are times when you can buy name brand clothing cheaper on sale and fit better than no-name. Go into Walmart and check out the prices on the no-named clothing, then go to some place like Belks and check out the named brand on sale. My sister can take $50 into a store like Belks or Dillard's and buy more name brand clothing for 3 boys cheaper than if she bought no-named brand clothing. Of course she isn't going to be able buy an Armani suit for $50, but her kids dress well and so does she.

Its like a need to be cool. And poor isn't cool. I think this mostly is with the younger ones like teen and early 20's. Not to mention the celebrates these people look up to wear only name brand cloths and they want to be like them.

As for me I don't care if it comes from Good Will as long as it fits good and covers me. I got more important things to spend my money on.

why shouldn't they?

there are a lot of places that sell used clothing.
maybe someone gave it to them as a gift. maybe they saved money for a long time to buy something that would make them feel better.

when my children were young we were very poor. they both had paper routes, and used the money for whatever they wanted. my daughter bought the clothes that we couldn't afford to buy her. my son bought comic books. ( he still does)

The thing about cheap fashion is it looks best when in small doses - I wouldn't wear a Primark or Asda suit *but* I would wear either the top or bottom with a slightly pricier item of clothing I already have. It's all about mixing and matching to find the overall look for you. I've also started to check out charity shops - something I'd never have done before - and have been surprised at the good quality bargains I've picked up. Some shops are better than others though!
