In a block of 6 units, neighbours are leaving the gate open. Maybe if I can explain to them the concept of the gate they will begin to use it as it supposed to be used.

Fitting an auto closing mechanism would be simpler than trying to explain to the Neanderthal humanoids that you don't like living in a cave like they evidently do!

In the West of Ireland, in days long gone, wood was at a premium. However, there were plenty of rocks and stones. The farmers had dry stone walls instead of hedgerows with no gates. Whenever they wanted to move sheep etc., in or out, they just knocked a hole in the wall............ true. Try it with your neighbours or probably easier, put a spring on it..............
