Hmmm....I take the meaning of "to spit" as an action of intention. Animals being somewhat aware (but not as aware of their actions with foresight as humans) may have intention but only as far as their personal comfort in mind. That being said, bears of course having saliva being as they eat other organisms and are in need of it, have every potential to spit. Yet, as having potential doesn't necessarily lead to spiting alone, intention (aforementioned) has to be coupled with it. Thus, with intention and potential, it is very likely that bears do in fact spit in the woods. Yes or No definitively, I cannot say; but, I tried my best to give likelihood.

of course they do, they love a good spit!
in fact they have spitting competitions sometimes when they are walking through the woods, it just suddenly comes over them. 'fancy a bit of a spit, then?' they say to their mates.
First to get over the river?

This debates saliva and well. Spittle do you know that they love to dribble. Moist of them are hair raisers that gel well. Tie up all the split ends and bunch them together. Forest of them it's plaititudes and a grissly end but some wood love a picnic, especially Teddy.

They don't really "spit" per se, but they do a tremendous amout of drooling. Their lips just don't work well enough to purse and spit.
