I just can't buy into Zo's inspirational comeback from kidney disease to NBA titlist with the Heat last season. Not when he essentially escaped to Miami with $22 million of Nets and Raptors money after essentially refusing to play with both. When the Nets -- who brought Mourning back into the league following an illness-related, one-season absence and waited for him after he underwent a kidney transplant -- started the '04-05 season sluggishly in the wake of allowing Kenyon Martin to depart to Denver as a free agent, Zo, a team veteran for all of 30 games, openly complained and said he stopped caring about playing for the team, eventually prompting a trade to Toronto. After Mourning refused to report to the Raptors, he was released with a $9 million buyout of his remaining deal, freeing him to pursue his title dreams back in Miami. The NBA is a business i guess. He played like a man possessed last year, but now that he's finally got a ring he's just slacking off.

You bring up very valid points and I agree with all but one, that he is slacking off. At 36, there isn't that much left in the tank and I believe that he is trying to give it all that he has got, especially with Shaquille out due to injury.

Lastly, I just think that Zo' should have called it quits after he won the title last year.

Hope this helps.

I don't think Alonzo Mourning is a jerk at all. You are right in that Zo was wrong in complaining about not caring about playing for the team but he had his reasons. He was the undisputed leader of the Miami Heat for the time he played with them. After he didn't get picked up by them when he came back to the league, he was pretty much disillusioned. At the time, they didn't need him so he was angry. Why play for a team that you never wanted to go to? As for Toronto? Nobody wants to play there. This man had been playing in the league for a decade without a ring and now he gets traded to one of the worst teams in the league? He refused to report because they had no shot at the championship. The Miami Heat was his team and when he left the Raptors they picked him up because they finally realized they needed him. He knew that with Shaquille O'Neal and Dwayne Wade, he'd finally get a ring, and he put in work for it. He earned his ring. He's not a jerk. He was just a man with a goal that wouldn't settle for less.

you will possibly desire to be too youthful to undergo in recommendations the Larry Johnson / Alonzo Mourning combat (Ha Ha!). i've got seen 10 year previous females combat greater effective than those 2. I lost all recognize for Mourning after that lean returned and slap tournament. Being super and robust has have been given no longer something to do with understanding the thank you to combat. i do no longer recognize the place Kenyon Martin is from, yet he seems kinda stressful. i might p.c.. Martin actual.

He is cocky but he is a really good player. His story coming back from kidney disease makes it even better that he is still a dominant player in the league. He will probably retire in a few years and be one of the best players in the last couple of decades.

he is a jerk, becasue he betrayed the toronto raptors and went on to win the championship with the miami heats, without the raptors trade of getting him outta new jersey nets helped him win a ring, so thanks to the raptors he won it. or else he would be in new jersey rite now.
