15 years ago i had a baby and the anethatist couldnt get the epidural needle in he tried 15 times and they had to get the top lady out to sort it out, the pain was excruitiating while they were trying and since have suffered back pain, dont complain too much to doctors, but have just got used to not being able to bend, and not being able to do lots of things, have seen the doctor though over the years and been given pain tablets but recently they got me in for an x ray and it showed that where the needles were put in there is now narrowing of the spine, does anyone know anything about this type of thing, if so do you think that my back will get major worse, as is getting worse over months and years but would like to know if i am eventually not going to be able to walk.

You need to ask the doctor all these questions. Make a list before your next appointment and then you will get the answers. I could say anything but it wouldn't be a true answer!

Xrays are not enough to make a diagnosis of spine narrowing. You need an MRI or a CT. Ask your doctor about it. Actually you shouldn't even ask-if he knows what he's doing he'll be the one to recommend it to you.

There is a procedure called a laminectomy. This may help you. I had it done for something other than your problem but it's a pretty cool surgery. Another thing I would suggest for back pain if you can afford it is a Tempur-Pedic Bed.
