India does not have ZIP codes. They are called PIN codes here. (Postal Index Number). Every City/Town/Village has one or more post offices and every post office has a different PIN code. Every post office has a defined area of service and all addresses within the geographical area of a post office will the same PIN code as that of the office.

use http://www.sysindia.com/pincode/index.html to search for the PIN code of the area.

Delhi GPO 110001
Mumbai GPO 400001
Each post office in each city has a different pin code. The above codes are for the General ( Main ) Post Office in each of these cities and is usually the CBD ( central business district)
If you are planning to send a letter, you will have to ask for the code of the post office of that particular area for each of these cities.

They are morons(BCCI). I hope the umpiring standard is even worse in the Bangalore test than it was in Mohali with all the decisions going against India and Australia coming out on top. Perhaps then the public would put enough pressure on these clowns to start using it.
