answers to our MIAs still unaccounted for, but for political reasons, and we the tax payer is footing the bill! Isn't his visit there a slp in the face to those of us who served in Viet Nam? How do you feel about it?

As a vet I am appalled, in my opinion if he doesnt want to end the MIA conterversary then send us back! He compaired Iraq and Nam in an attempt to drum up support for his war! His Daddy ran the CIA under Nixon durng the war, to me maybe he ought to stay there until all of our pow/mias are accounted for! Maybe give him a room in the Hanoi Hilton!

Even though I support trade, and full diplomatic recognition of Vietnam.....there's a lot of unanswered questions.

Mia's need to be accounted for.....BEFORE we have full ties to Vietnam. The Vietnam conflict was a somber tale in our history. The brave Americans that died there need to be brought home.

Paul, Clinton went in 2000. He didn't do anything about the guys who got left behind, and with all George has on his plate, he can't do squat either.
Take what consolation you can from the fact that his party got spanked at home, then he has to show up empty handed because a Rep. controlled Congress voted down the Trade Bill.

Our political differences aside, yes the issue with our unaccounted for MIAs from the Vietnam war greatly disturbs me.

Though I've read many personal accounts by those that were imprisoned by the V.C. and NVA, one man's tale stands out.

Frank Anton.

I cite his story because after his release, he recounted to our government how he witnessed many American prisoners that were held captive with him in various jungle camps and also during his imprisonment In Hanoi, that were not let free after the war.

I believe Kissinger knew of this even as he signed the peace accord in Paris with his North Vietnamese counterpart.

Does this anger and disgust me? Yes, beyond words.

Our government let those brave men and boys be used as political bargaining chips.

Makes me f***ing sick.

Now Bush travels to the country where roughly 58,000 Americans died and many more were grievously wounded.

It bothers me that not a word is spoken of our missing service men.

Dubya really waffles me about comparing the Nam to Iraq. Little bit different. No telling what surprise announcement he'll deliver. Maybe he can hire VC to come over to Iraq and show how it's done. But look for him to annouce a free-trade agreement. Wal-mart will be able to sell shoes manufactured in VietNam like they've always done in Europe.

Maybe after Dubya's term in office, he can volunteer for Iraq.

The political reasons he's treavelling to Viet Nam for are part of the job we elected him to do. You know, PROMOTE FREE TRADE? If you're taking his visit to Hanoi as a slap in the face, your mistaken. I served also and I'm telling you that Kerry's collaberating with the North Vietnamese in Paris in 1972 was a slap in the face, not this. That war is over man and it don't mean nothin'.

He's the President of the United States. Going to Vietnam for an official visit is entirely within his province.

I understand your feelings regarding the Vietnam war, but his visit there 30 years after the war's end is not a "slap in the face" to anyone.

He's just doing his job. Let him.
