...going to cost me?
Train tickets, drinks, and I bet she will want to visit a fancy restaurant as well.
I think I'm looking at £250 min
I blame the BBC

I suggested seeing Les Miserables, I've heard that is excellent, but she wasn't having any of it.
(Is it as good as I've been told?)

It's not the money as such, but it is annoying having to pay a substantial amount of cash when I loathe the Sound of Music.
I would of happily paid for Evita, Les Mis and others.

I haven`t actually seen it but on The Matthew Wright Show they said it was well worth the money and brilliant. Richard Parks was on the panel from Fame Academy and he agreed so just look at it as a lovely night. Just think how many brownie points you will score. If you cant afford all of it ask your girlfriend to contribute. Relax, chill and enjoy.

Think you're right!
Les Mis is a fantastic show with an amazing score and fantastic acting. It's definitely one to see.
The BBC show has done a lot to promote ticket sales for Sound of Music - only the reviews will tell whethre it's worth the money or not.
Other great shows which are a must-see at the mo are Wicked, Avenue Q and Guys and Dolls. Evita is great if you are a fan of fabulous choreography too

How did she 'make you' do this? Don't you have a mind of your own? This is very expensive for a night out, I agree. However, only you know whether you can afford this and are just whingeing, or if this is one night out that will leave your pockets well and truly empty.
If I were her, no way would I enjoy seeing a show with a guy who's moaning about the cost all the time. If you can afford it, enjoy a wonderful evening out together. If you can't, be a man and tell her the truth!
Why blame the BBC? What have they got to do with it?

I am sure that your girlfriend treats you very well and she should be treated with respect and caring. Complaining about her "making' you spend money on an evening out with her doesn't sound as if you are very committed to her or your relationship.
Do you really want to be putting a monetary amount on your relationship? I highly doubt it. You need to realize that ladies like these types of things; and realize that you need to be planning evenings out like this without being "made" to do them.
Take your girlfriend out for a lovely evening. Forget about the money, you can always earn more. You may not be able to repair your relationship so easily if you are acting as if you are being "made" to spend money on an evening out. Have a nice day.

Well mate, I would expect my pound of flesh for that price(joke),having said that tho you only live once so good to have a posh night out occasionally.
The main thing is if she appreciates the effort your putting in,cos to me she must be worth it,OR is she one of those who expects alot but never gives a lot...hmmmmmm
Les Mis is fantastic I have seen it 10 times so it must be good...
Didn't like Sound of Music at all, so I guess you can't please everyone all the time..not my cuppa tea...Cheers

What kind of a whimp are you? If you are daft enough to agree to the deal in the first place, why come whining on here? Is it you or your cash she wants? If it's you she wants, sell the tickets and dump the night out...if it's your cash she wants, dump the girl!!!
PS. Don't blame the BBC. blame the mug in your shaving mirror.

So you're going to the Palladium. programme will cost you £3.50. bottles of Grolsch at the bar are £5 each.T-shirts normally go for around £20.
I worked for the company that runs the theatre a while back, and they ain't cheap! Take your credit card, you'll need it.

Why don't you suggest she takes a girl-friend instead?
My man would loathe it too so he's going to the rugby whilst I am at the theatre.
Everybody's happy except your bank manager!

Yep, you're getting stung big time. That's an obscene amount of cash. You might as well try to enjoy it.
