Before the interpretation of your dream can be understood, you have to understand what a dream is. Dreams allow the mind to relieve stress from inner tensions and to also bring to light problems that are ignored or repressed during daily life.
The mind is comprised of a conscious and subconscious. The conscious has all of the aspects that you use in daily life and typically all of the emotions you choose to display because they are socially appropriate. The subconscious is a part of the mind that isn't completely separated from the conscious, but does remain hidden during daily life. All of the emotions, memories, and experiences of your life that you do not like or do not have time for are put here (humiliating experiences, sexual tensions, the number of times you walked that day, desires to fight...etc).
When you sleep, not only does the body repair itself, but the mind reviews over what the conscious and subconscious have collected that day and in the past as well. This "reviewing process" is the dream. The mind does not speak directly, but uses a combinations of pictures, sounds, smells, and touch. If a boss at work has been giving you more work than you can handle, and you really can't say anything about it, then your dream might reflect that. Perhaps in daily life you imagine that your boss resembles a weasel. In your dream the conscious will animate a creature that looks like a weasel that torments you (the frustration you feel at work but refuse to show). The subconscious part of your mind wishes you could just make your boss stop being so hard on you at work. So in your dream you dream about killing the weasel beast. So the translation of the dream would be a weasel-like boss that is frustrating you and you wish you could make them stop.
Snakes in dreams do not necessarily have a universal meaning. The meaning of the snakes is dependent on your feelings toward snakes. A person who hates or fears snakes may have snakes appear in their dreams to represent something they fear or hate. However, a person who likes snakes and views them as being animals or lacking any motive (like evil intent), may have snakes manifest in dreams as representation of danger, but not necessarily ill-will or evil.
Colors are unique to the dreamer too. However, society can play a role in how you view colors, snakes, and many other things. If you are from a western society, then your dream about snakes may mean something more like this:
A dream of being chased means that you are troubled by something and feel you must run. You cannot fight whatever this trouble is. The white snake is indifferent to your problems and merely watches. The black cobra is aggressor and bites you every chance it gets. The pain you feel is the impact the actions of the actions that the snake has. This dream represents a situation where you feel someone is attacking you (verbally, mentally, emotionally, or physically) and there are other people who refuse to help you. This could be any situation in life: home (a child or teenager) where your mother makes accusations that aren't true and your father knows you didn't do those things but won't take your side; work where your boss thinks you're the reason that everyone is behind even though your co-worker could stand up and say that you are doing a good job, but chooses to remain quiet; or perhaps there's a rumor going on among your friends that reflects negatively on you and a friend could help you but doesn't. In this setup, you feel that both the aggressor and the one who refuses to help are both snakes. One just doesn't bite whereas the other one bites incessantly.
I hope this helps a little bit.

I was always told, that when I dreamt about snakes. It was the serpant, in some form trying to show me something. AS for the white one, with the black I would say it would seem to be a right or wrong situation. Maybe even a good verses evil kinda thing. Not really sure, but I hate snakes, so dreaming about them makes my skin crawl and freaks me out to no end.

Snakes can often represent health. Additionally, snake sheds his skin - so you may have a situation where shedding your normal skin and taking on some bright new hues would be appropriate.
It seems as though you have a black/white situation going on somewhere. The white side is good, benign and easy to get on with. The black side is evil, nasty and damaging. Wherever you go you can't get away from it - and it hurts.
I can't tell you what those situations are - but maybe something will ring a bell for you, in all that.

Snakes = fear, authorities
White = respectful figure
Black = people you hate
Being chased = being criticized.
Being bitten = words may have offended you
Basically, you have a dream of insecurity. You do not trust certain people Projecting white snake could mean this "fear", you respect but you do not really hate. For example, parents, boss. However, Black cobra could symbolize someone you fear and hate. For example, it could be your co-worker, classmates, bullies or even siblings.
Having snakes projected basically mean fear. However, if you have color in your dream, that will elaborate the meaning of your dream. Subconsciously you feel two kind of fear, one is you respect, one is you distrust and dislike

Snakes speak to transformation, death and rebirth, the taking on of a new skin, new roles, responsibilities and even attitudes... and the cobra would speak to the fact that you may be afraid of the changes you feel coming.
