The definitions of Community and Society re given below. Community is broader and society is restricted ot particular class of perople.
A community usually refers to a group of people who interact and share certain things as a group, but it can refer to various collections of living things sharing an environment, plant or animal. This article focuses on human communities, in which intent, belief, resources, preferences, needs, risks and a number of other conditions may be present and common, affecting the identity of the participants and their degree of adhesion.
A society is a grouping of individuals, which is characterized by common interest and may have distinctive culture and institutions. "Society" may refer to a particular people, such as the Nuer, to a nation state, such as Austria, or to a broader cultural group, such as Western society. Society can also be explained as an organized group of people associated together for religious, benevolent, cultural, scientific, political, patriotic, or other purposes-.

A community is a group of people who live and work as individuals in the same area. Society is a group that is bond together with the same interests. We live in a small community of ten thousand. The society I live in is of medium income. High society are the rich who stick to their lavish lives.

I will simply put it that community is a collection of people who live in a small area which others identify as people with a common goals, ancestors, root etc. while a society is a collection of a number of communities of different background.

I suppose if forced to shoose, I would say that word "society" is in reference to a larger grouping of people than "community" usually refers to.
