Did you get in? How have you found it? What qualifications did you have? Have you ever known anyone with adequate qualifications be rejected?

Thanks for the advice.

I have enough GCSE for the course but am 25 and have not worked in this field although it is something I have always wanted to do. I wondered if it will go against me not having worked in the care field. I know I could start that now but time is passing and I feel that my qualifications and knowledge would allow me to learn enough on the actual course.

Ask the colleges in your area about their nursing program & what the requirements are. Classes are limited, so getting in is tough and may not happen the first time you apply. It's easier to get in at a vo-tech type place, and you will get a nursing license, but they are usually not accredited schools, so your classes will not transfer if you want to go further with your degree.

If you get rejected after you apply, take CNA classes, CPR certifications, do volunteer work at your local hospital, ect.... to increase your chances (points) of being accepted next time.

Having a high act score helps, also.

If this is something you've always wanted to do, then go for it and good luck.

Apply to a nursing school. Start with LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) if you wish, and then go on to RN (Registered Nurse). The training is rigorous.
