How cool is that? You and I have both been selected as beneficiaries of this Nigerian person's estate! Let's pool our resources and pay off all the debts of everyone we know.

You are being sarcastic right? No one with half a brain would trust those people, it's almost the oldest scam in the world.
But if you were really able to come into a large sum of money, get a lawyer and a CPA fast! #1 because everyone you ever look sideways at will sue you to get your money, and #2 because you would need to have a serious look at how to invest and avoid Uncle Sam taxing the crap out of you. Any money left after setting yourself up with a decent retirement, living arraingements, and money to protect your interests and family with, donate some to viable, honest charities that work locally. (Always clean up your own back yard first!) Then think about what you want to do on a bigger scale, like start a program to support education, and then go after that one thing that bugs you so much about how things are run, you know, the things people complain about the most, like "dang, why don't "they" do something about this traffic?". Seems like a lot of suddenly rich people forget the things that bothered them when they didn't have all that money.

There was just a recent show on this - 'Close to Home' and it is a HUGE scam. IF this was not a scam, and you got this 25million minus 10% - well, ENJOY!
Take a great vacation,
pay off all debts, and keep it that way
get rid of all credit cards - or at least pay off each month:
invest some of the money
definitely give some to family members or friends in need. Donate, get a floor named after you in a hospital for sick children'
Make a will and be sure you leave to your children
Make a pre-nup for future marriages or even common-laws - not greedy, just watching out for you.
But before you announce to anyone that you win or get a ton of money (aside from your lawyer), go to a 'silent resort' where you are able to just sit and think - plan.

First of all you invest 1 million dollars. This way you're set for life and free to spend the other 1.5 mil. =)
It wont take long either. Rent a suite in a plush Vegas casino. Flash your cash. You'll soon have women hanging all over you. Dine at the best restaurants. Be driven around in a limo. Party it up until the money's gone. Then retire and live off of interest checks from the 1 mil. Then just wait til some other rich dude gives you money so you can do it all over again.

I have no idea! Ask the fake Nigerian! He should know; he's going to be rich too, right!?
And sadly, yes, some people fall for this. I could MAYBE understand it the first time, but now? Sigh. People are really silly.
If you were REALLY going to be rich, I would suggest paying someone to send your Nigerian friend tons of spam.

Well, if you are stupid enough to fall for this hoax, just but it in the bank, and invest it in a bank account.
