Why bother. You can buy a full desktop computer for $399.00 at STAPLES and other retailers. This would have all new equipment: 3GHz AMD Semperon, 512MB RAM, DVD/CD ROM Combo Drive and many advanced features. It comes with a licensed version of Microsoft XP and many other software options. Look for the Compaq brand. There are many other TOWER ONLY deals that you can find at other retailers that would far exceed the specifications of that poor-old Pentium III chip.

Good luck and Happy Computing.

P3 mobos are expensive and if you're looking at the Tualatin processors (1.1ghz - 1.4ghz) they're silly prices.

I do like the Coppermine P3s though, much better than P4s but for cost you should get an Athlon XP, cheap as chips and much faster than anything else pound for pound.

Check out ebay, but be sure you know what you're buying. Try and get an MSI, Gigabyte or Asus board, they're the best.

Also, if you do get a P3 mobo more-than-likely the hard disk controller will be slow (ATA66) so upgrade it with an ATA133 PCI card and performance will be doubled.
