With my first pregnancy,3 years ago, I had an emergency cesarean. I recently found out I'm pregnant again and wondering which I should do this time. What are the pros/cons with a repeat cesarean? What are the pros/cons with a vaginal birth after a cesarean?

Well I also had an emergency c-sec. And I want a VBAC! But i've been told my family members and doctors that it's not a good idea because that might cause more complications! It's all because of the doctors mistake the first time around. So.... having another C-sec will make everyone else happy, it will be alot easier on them. Whereas a VBAC will be a bit more complicated, they'll have to watch you alot closer and so on! So, I say you decide. What do you really want. I've told my husband that if it does get too painful or complicated for the baby, i'll have to go with another c-section, but don't want to! Congrats! And GOOD LUCK!

Well the both have the same end result... I have only had vaginal deliveries..but I do understand that it takes quite a bit longer to heal from cesareans. Vaginal deliveries leave you tired and sore...but with the cesarean you technically have had surgery...so you take a lot longer to feel better (weeks).
You need to check with your ob/gyn before you commit yourself to one way or another...just for the simple fact that you now have scar tissue on your uterus which may or may not prevent you from having a vaginal delivery...if there is a lot of scarring..you could be at GREAT risk for hemorrhaging.
I wish you luck and either way you decide ..I hope your baby is beautiful and healthy!!!

I had an emergency c section with my first child. When I was pregnant with my second, my doctor told me that I could attempt a vaginal delivery with my second if I would like to. But if my scar from the previous c-section started to show any signs of stress they would stop and do another c-section. After being in labor with my first child for almost 24 hours before having a c-section, I thought it would be best to opt for a repeat c-section. I had a c-section with my third child also. With a repeat c-section, you can schedule the date and time, so you can be better prepared vs a vaginal birth. Which ever you decide to choice, do what is best for you and what you feel the most comfortable with. Congratulations and best of luck!

Vaginal! Anytime the have to cut, it can lead to complications. Not to mention the longer recovery time. I was tender after my vaginals, but I could get up after the birth, lift my baby, could feel my legs! Also, by the time I left the hospital I was totally recovered and didn't have to be careful about lifting or stitches. It might hurt more, but I hate extra meds and not being in control of my own body.

There is a slightly higher risk of the uterus ruptering if you have had a C section and then have a vaginal birth= you recover quicker w a vaginal birth- your ob/gyn could give you his opinion= D

Hi! You have to make your choice. Because, with c-section you can only do it three times not more. With vaginal you can do however long you want. So, than means if you want to have more than three children you should not have c-section.
I hope I was some kind of help! Good luck!

women people who've vaginal births could have weakened pelvic floor muscle groups, yet kegels can help plenty. diverse c sections would be risky. The greater you scar the uterus the greater threat is placed on the being pregnant. If she had to have greater youngsters she would desire to have found a doctor that helps VBACs.

VBAC is definitely a possibility. I have only had vaginal, but several of my friends have had both and when asked say that vaginal was easier and less recovery.

This is something I am wondering myself. I had to have an emergency c-section and I've been told my doctors after that, that the doctor who did my c-section severely messed up my uterus. I guess this means I will have to have another c-section.

Ask your doctor, because there is risk with both.
