look for hall-of-famers in your collection. those should be worth a few dollars. then, if they are rookie cards, of players like walter payton, or steve young, dan marino, troy aikman, emmett smith, etc. they are worth much more. as well, when people collect cards, they try to get a whole set from a particular season. this is very difficult. find out what season the card is from and what company, then try to advertize that info to bring in more dough. rookie cards are always worth more because they are rare, especially of hall-of-famers. keep in mind as well, as years progress, people with these rare cards may lose them and they may be harder to find. less supply, same/more demand=higher price. the more recent a card is the less it will probably cost. a 1970 rookie card will cost more tahn a 1999 rookie card.

With the volume of cards in the market the value is on error cards or specific players,R O Y ,H O F,etc.......
When you look up the price the quoated price in the guides you may get half that if the dealers want that card bad enough.

one of the most valuable football cards is some special edition from fleet i believe...its a michael vick rookie

i dont know if they still are but during his rookie year, ben roethlisbergers rookie cards were the most expensive out of all football cards
