Trains leave every half hour from Ayr to Glasgow Central going through Irvine at 10 past and 20 to the hour.

go to google and then type in train timetable - scotland - and then railtrack have a new link - type in Irvine in departure box and Glasgow in Arrivals and it will give you the timetable and you can pick a time that suits you.

Two trains an hour Monday to Saturday (almost every half-hour). Some extra trains in the peak. Winter Sunday service is hourly, although, in the run up to Christmas, this is increased to two trains an hour between 10am & 6pm.
