Totally agree 100%.... He was on Talk Sport Radio last week and what an amazing Goalscorer he was.... 366 Goals in 530 Games for all clubs. I didnt realise he played for AC milan till then, only played 12 games but scored 9 goals. For England he scored something like 40 odd goals in 50 odd games. I used to like the Saint & Greavsie show on Saturdays. Best question i think ive seen on here.... even better than my ones lol

I'm too young to remember him playing (though old enough to remember Saint and Greavsie) but 44 goals in 57 England games says it all. He remains top scorer for Chelsea in a single season (41 or 44 I believe) and, had it not been for injury, would have taken Geoff Hurst's place in the starting line up in the 1966 World Cup final.
So the greatest ever English striker then? Definitely.

Not only a superb striker but an all round excellent bloke. I got quite angry when George Best was hyped up so much for his career and then when he died. Both were sufferers of alcoholism, but for some reason, the fact that George Best continued to drink even after all the support he had and the new liver he was given made him more of a jack-the-lad hero than Greasie who works every day to beat a debilitating disease, successfully. Who's the greater sproting hero? No contest - Jimmy Greaves.

Greaves was fantastic, but as a Striker surely Ian Rush's records eclipse good old Jimmy.

A bit before my time, but as far as i am aware he was a fantastic predatory striker with the uncanny knack of being in the right place at the right time (like all strikers should be) Also he would have been in the 1966 World Cup winning side but sadly missed out due to injury.

He was well before my time, but my dad and his brothers were all mental Chelsesa Fans, and they reckon he was a world class striker who had it all, pace, two great feet, could score from any angle, a great header of the ball an his goalscoring record speaks for itself.
