THIS is a "brown nose" question that they use to see what TYPE of good dog you will be for them. Its nothing more than that. There is no RIGHT answer- theyre only wanting to see how MUCH you want this job compared to others with the same qualifications. Heres one thing that you can do. When this question is asked, its a coin flip- given that no matter what answer you provide theyre basically flipping a coin to see if its YOU or someone else they hire. Given this, you basically have to 'put it on the table' or in other words, youve got NOTHING TO LOSE so say this "because Im not only a team player who is capable of working on my own as well, but Im the canidate who has an interest in continuing my education in areas that will improve the companies overall performance. Such as attending seminars and conventions on current industry standards and areas that pertain to employee cohesion such as team building workshops that will better the workplace as a whole and not soley myself as an individual employee. My interest lies beyond having a paycheck at a job, Im seeking a career. How better to keep ones career than taking steps to ensure that the copmpany benefits by my presence?

Theyre looking for the best brown noser. WITHOUT sounding like thats your goal. Like I said, when they ask you THAT, theyre already concidering other canidates, so youve got nothing to lose and you may be surpsied how they respond.

Basic thing, during an interview, you try to persuade your prospective employer.

I would answer that question:

"I am a hard-working individual, always give 110% in any given assignment(s). I am dedicated, loyal, ... " such and such. If you have proofs, show them.

Persuade, sell yourself <<< two of the key things to keep in mind.

After an interview, usually they ask, "do you have any questions for me?" ... this is your chance to shine. Start asking about the company, this shows that you are interested in work there and you are interested in the company.

For your closure, say this: "I know you are busy, I do appreciated that you came out today, to give the chance ... I'm looking forward to hear from you ... I will call you back within (give them a time frame, no more than two weeks, keep calling until they would call you back for the 2nd interview) ... "

Ask them for their contact information if you haven't done so.

Voila, 2nd interview, good chance to nail that position (job).

Good luck in your interview!!

Answer by saying :
"I know I can contribute to your company as I have very good attitudes toward work and life. I am definitely able to add value to your company as I am knowledgeable in the field that I have applied for. From the records and resume that I have shown you, there is evidence of my ability. I sincerely would like to work in your company for I have chosen it out of so many others for I like your company's profile. You have a winner here."

--- For goodness sake, put in good work if you are accepted into the company otherwise you will lose your own self esteem.

well, why should they? answer with confidence. some good advice that ive been told is that youre walking into a job interview thinking, you want me for this position. if you dont give me this position im gonna kick yo' as*! lol.

think adjectives: are you responsible, outgoing, hard-working, resourceful, etc? what qualities would be good for the company that youre applying for? start with this last question, and then answer with fitting personality characteristics that you think describe you. make sure to sell this to the interviewer, so that he/she believes you. have meaning behind the words. believe in yourself!

Its the same question as "What are your strengths?" only disguised. Look at the company website and literature and see what competencies they are looking for in candidates (e.g. leadership, teamwork, analytical skills, critical thinking, etc). Then craft your "60 second sell" in accordance with these competencies. Be prepared to provide examples and back up examples for each one. This will show that you can fulfill what they are looking for in a candidate.

Its a good question, I ask it of any that apply at the shop, I dont ask themthat exact question, but I say, "Tell me why I should hire you, what good is it gonna do me to give you a paycheck?"
That is the truth of the question, it just doesnt sound Politically Correct to ask it that way, screw Politically Correct, I am an American, I dont have to be conform to anybody elses standards of accepted speach.
If a broad doesnt wanna be called a broad, tell me, I might stop calling her a broad, but I will still refer to women in the way that my father did, he called em broads, dames, chicks. Today that is Unnaceptable in the workplace, well they dont work for me.And I wont work for them.
Freedoms just another word for nothing left to lose.

Match up your education and experience to the qualifications they are looking for in the position. Sell yourself by telling them you match the qualifications they are looking for.
