If the person is nice before consuming alcohol and aggressive and violent afterwards...there is probably an underlying chemical imbalance to blame, and the alcohol intensifies this.

This person should not consume any alcohol at all, and should see a doctor for treatment.

I think alcohol changes ur behavior, not ur personality. If ur basically a nice, easy going type of person, but when intoxicated, u become sarcastic and argumentative, ur behavior has changed, not ur basic personality. Alcohol also brings out true feelings in some cases, not all. U may dislike someone, but normally avoid them or at least tolerate them, alcohol gives u false courage with lowered inhibitions, making u tell that person how u really feel about them, therefore, brings out the truth.

Having grown up with an alcoholic father, I believe that the true personality traits come forward when under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The type and quantity of alcohol or drug used allows for the degree of loss, regarding inhibitions.

Alcohol opens up people alot therefore they say and do things which they would never otherwise do! Also, alcohol makes people become aggresive sometimes and that's why there are alot of fights where there are drunk people. Alcohol does things to a person that would never be expected!

To answer your question, it depends-Sometimes people change with alcohol and do things that they would never dream of doing, while other times there may be something about a person that is only revealed when he drinks-fro instance, a person may hate someone but is too polite to tell him and therefore will always act nice to him, but when he gets drunk he will speak his mind to that person, telling him exactly what he thinks about him!

I don't think alcohol actually reveals true colors, but maybe it does change personality in a sense that a person loses some of his or her common sense, and follows his or her much-affected brain...that's my personal experience =)

For example, maybe too much alcohol can make one easily triggered, or more sensitive, which can result in violence and aggresiveness...coz everyone has their limit, and alcohol just lowers that limit...

depends very much on the nature of the person, if you are an aggressive type alcohol would probably make you worse if you are timid it would most likely give you a bit dutch courage but i dont think it would make you violent, personaly alcohol makes me go to sleep

i think that true personality is shown due to lowered inhibitions. In my experience. i've said and done things that i've wanted to when i'm sober but didn't have the confidence. I'd like too think that this is true because i'm a cheerful and friendly drunk, and usually i'm too reserved.

I have seen it do all of the above-in small amounts in a comfortable atmosphere it can be relaxing and allow a person to react more openly to their feelings-however-this drug can also make people over react-or under react-to certain stimuli-way beyond what they would do in their normal state of mind-to the point of embarrassing and/or even endangering themselves and others-the drugged person is not percieving things normally-and so cannot react normally- and so their true personalities cannot accurately be judged while intoxicated- in my opinion.
