I just dont want her to get aids or something. She's determined. I tried suggesting to at least go to a sperm bank or whatever you call them. How can I convince her not to go through with this?

She doesn't think that maybe the guy would like to know this? Or perhaps that one day he discovers this and has that child taken away from her? I'm confused about her reasoning.

Regardless! Does she have a specific person in mind or is it just going to be come random person she's never met? At the very least, if it's someone she knows, there's a chance that she's familiar with his sexual history and might have an idea as to whether or not he's at a high risk to be carrying STD's.

The "good" news (if there is any) is that first of all, she has a friend like you who's concerned enough about her to go to people for advice. Also, the chances of her getting pregnant during a one night stand are significantly smaller than if she was in a long-term relationship. Maybe that will stop her? Hey, it's definitely worth a shot.

Also, it doesn't hurt to google AIDS (or STD) statistics in (whatever state/Provence/etc you live in) and gather some information about how large a risk she might be at. Keeping in mind, of course, the insanely large amount of people who have STD's who have no idea yet that they're infected...

I sincerely hope you can get through to her. Lots of luck to you!

Dear,

I am sorry I do not even have the answer to your question, but like you, there must CERTAINLY be something done to alter your freinds decision......in addition to telling her about sexually transmitted diseases...mention the fact that the child will be without a father after it is born...and how unfair this would be.....maybe consult her parents or closest relatives/friends on this one, too.....I hope she changes her mind...good luck to you!

You need to tell her that there is alot of stds running around and she doesnt need just to go pick some random guy and bone him to try to get preg. tell her that it is really alot harder raising a baby on your own than having someone there to help
