British politics has been in the same state for years, but getting gradually worse- no independent candidates like the monster raving loony party are in the limelight to spice up politics ( how can you have a Democratic process with so few political parties!)
I remember watching an American chat show on TV, there was 2 studios of people via satelite- one in USA the other in Russia (before end of communism). The people asked the differences of both countries through the prog, then one American guy asked a question to the Russians 'whats it like having 1 political party (communists) in Russia', a Russian guy replied, 'we have many communist parties-how many parties do you have'?!. People in Britain have been brainwashed (started in Thatcher era), money is God, people are shallow and unhappy as a whole trying to achieve the unachievable (unless you are one of the select few), pressured by the media to consume. How many people protest these days, or vote or debate- i thought this was all part of the democratic process (governments are making it harder to protest)! In politics its the people that need to stand up for themselves and be counted!!

I did a negative vote for the school governer... but thats what is gonna happen at the next election for me. Non of them deserve to win, but one of the parties must be a bit better than the rest!

I would like to see negative voting come in. "I don't care who wins but I don't want him to win" That sort of thing. Your vote could take a positive vote from a candidate. I think there would be a better turn out. I for one know of several politicians I would vote against. Very few I would vote FOR!!
