plasma is the highly ionised gases.
We know that ionised gas can conduct electricity.
According to Farrady's law when ever there is a change in magnetic field emf is induced.
There is a method called "MAGNETO HYDRODYNAMIC" in which a magnet is placed over which a hot ionised gases(plasma) is sprayed through a nozzle, so according to our law there is a change in magnetic field due to relative motion between magnet and ionised gas(plasma).... thus EMF is induced.
But there is a problem.... To create ionised gas we have to heat the gas for more than 10000 degree celcius, But there is no metal which can withstand this much temperature, so to overcome this some materials called as SEED is added which will be ionised easily.....

It can be, and it is being used.
The sun is in Plasma state, and we use the rays to generate electricity through Solar Cells.
