New Preamble To The Constitution

"We, the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common sense guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt ridden, delusional, and other liberal bed-wetter's. We hold these truths to be self evident: that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim they require a Bill of NON-Rights."

ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing you anything.

ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone- not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc.; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.

ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful, do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and your relatives independently wealthy.

ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes.

ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free healthcare. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, you are just not interested in public healthcare.

ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.

ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure.

ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful.

ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to to PURSUE happiness, which by they way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.

ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don't care where you are from, English is our language. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from.

ARTICLE XI: You do not have the right to change our history or heritage. This country was founded on the belief of one true GOD. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all; with no fear of persecution. The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is part of our heritage and history, and if you are uncomfortable with it...TOUGH.

I wouldn't suggest changing anything about the constitution now. Someone would just use it as an opportunity to let their religion get in the way. The county was founded to be free of religious persecution among other things. With that said, I'd limit the freedom of the press. There are just some things that people shouldn't have the privilege to know. Also, it would be nice to let people who have jobs and are under 18 vote. So maybe something like if you have a license under age 18 you can vote. It's not fair that taxes get taken out of your check and yet you don't have any say in how things are handled.

It seems a popular idea to suggest amending the Constitution for every dingbat idea that comes down the pike.

We probably don't need any more amendments at this point with perhaps one exception. We should define what is and what is not "Cruel and unusual punishment". That would save millions of wasted dollars every year and thousands of hours in courtrooms addressing prisoner law suits. It would also allow putting hardened criminals back on chain gangs and rock piles, and segregate them from the lesser sort. We could close down the white collar "prisons" and throw those crooks in with the less violent felons.

I agree fully with you. Only traditional born residents must be allowed to run for president. Schwarzenegger isn't a nazi sympathizer although. The man is simply a republican his spouse more often than not moved him sharply to the left. By the way in which earlier than any of you Democrats get too cocky, we did have the son of a nazi sympathizer elected president. J.F.K's father used to be very sympathetic Nazi Germany earlier than the struggle. You do not listen whatever approximately that from the media.

uuum, I would change it back to what it was back in1787 when it was first signed.

Bush has introduced new laws that scrap the 9/10 of them:

Do a youtube.com or google video search for
"Keith Olbermann constitution", you will find out that it is democracy is dying. The contitution doesn't need changing, it needs re-enforcing. Bush has made is so that you don't need proof to put someone in jail, he can torture them, no need for a jury, you can be locked up if you are a member of an organisation he doesnt like (again no need to involve the courts with this...)

Peace.

Repeal and replace the 14th Amendment. Section 1 of the 14th has three consecutive clauses that are vague and have been misused and abused by the Courts so much that it makes me want to stay away from the ballot box for the rest of my life.

Constitutional law ought to constitute a set of rules so that government (the level of government being commanded) can know what it can or cannot do. Constitutional law ought to "provide guidance and discipline for the legislature, which is entitled to know what kind of laws it may pass," and it ought to "mark the limit of [the Court's] authority." (From Romer v. Evans, 1996; morally correct rhetoric but completely hypocritical in reality.)

Declare that the 14th is repealed (we obviously don't need the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th sections of it any more) and is replaced with more clearly stated rules for the states to obey.

In place of the Privileges and Immunities Clause, say that states must obey all provisions of the Bill of Rights except for the 2nd, 7th, and 9th amendments, and the Grand Jury Clause of the 5th.

Clarify that the Due Process Clause means exactly what it literally says and that, as Alexander Hamilton once said, it can never be applied to an act of the legislature (or voters). The Clause guarantees fair, standard PROCEDURES, not laws which judges deem acceptable.

Clarify that the Equal Protection Clause means only one thing: RACIAL equality. Not gender, not sexual orientation, not aliens, not equality for persons born out of wedlock, etc., etc.

The Supreme Court has been at its worst when: 1) it steals Presidential elections, 2) it enforces "unenumerated rights," and 3) picks out "minorities" other than racial minorites for "heightened protection."

"The current state of equal protection and fundamental rights is a travesty. The Court has drifted between different [clauses of the 14th] in deriving these rights as if they were so many coat hooks for the Court to use which-ever one is convenient. The various standards set out by the Court for deriving these rights are so vague as to be virtually useless. ... [T]he Fourteenth Amendment remains a hodgepodge of underdeveloped ideas." -- Evan Gerstmann, "Same-Sex Marriage and the Constitution," (2003) Cambridge University Press, pp 209-210.

And this quote bears repeating, too:

"Each one of us must in the end choose for himself how far he would like to leave our collective fate to the wayward vagaries of popular assemblies. No one can fail to recognize the perils to which the last forty years have exposed such governments. ... For myself, it would be most irksome to be ruled by a bevy of Platonic Guardians, even if I knew how to choose them, which I assuredly do not. If they were in charge, I should miss the stimulus of living in a society where I have, at least theoretically, some part in the direction of public affairs. Of course I know how illusory would be the belief that my vote determined anything; but nevertheless when I go to the polls I have a satisfaction in the sense that we are all engaged in a common venture."

The U.S. Supreme Court is behaving like a bevy of Platonic Guardians. They steal elections and flush the people's moral values down the toilet. They have robbed from me the reason for voting -- that "satisafaction ... that we are all engaged in a common venture."

Simple,
1) require every adult citizen to carry a gun (and know how to use it). This creates the "level playing field" the liberals are so fervently seeking, and people would suddenly become VERY polite.

2) Don't allow government employees (city, county, state, federal) to vote. Government can only vote for more government.

Term limits for all. All these congressmen getting rich off us taxpayers should learn to work for a living. Let them all have 2 term max, like the president. Maybe they'll pay attention to us instead of all those lobbyists.
