Preparing and cooking food at home is infinitely better than having it done by somebody else, as you say, sometimes in a factory hundreds of miles away, frozen, and then m/waved in the "restaurant."
Even in the 'Little Chef' road restaurants they usually cook food to order, although the last time I went in one and the sixteen year old "chef" asked me how I'd like my steak cooked I replied "Preferably by your mother!"
It's the same, regarding the unwanted 'lettuce leaves' when you go to buy a sandwich (although why people can't be bothered to make their own I'll never know!). Why is it that if you want a roast beef sandwich it comes with half of someones allotment in it together with a dollop of a pallid looking mess they have the nerve to call mayonnaise!

Very subjective. Depends on the time you have, the money you can spend eating out, the kind of food you like. Way to broad, to be a True/False type question.
But if you are a decent enough cook, i would say it is much preferable to cook your own food rather than spending the extra quid to get factory generated generic food.

Depends on where you go. If you eat in a Harvester or similar then yes it's crap and as you say obviously prepared in a factory and heated up in the kitchen.
Go to a decent restaurant, you'll pay more but it's worth it.

I think you have been going to the wrong places to eat! If you want good food, avoid most chain restaurants and ordinary pubs. Stick to gastro-pubs. They serve fantastic quality food without the formality of first class restaurants.

Yes.
It's all expensive garbage.
Served by some surly kid.
and you're suppsoed to smile and lok happy for fear of said kid injecting some foreign substance into said garbage (probably making it more appetising).
Eat at home.

True you know whats in it and how it's been prepared you never know whats going on in kitchens and how often food has been handled or re-heated.You know it's fresh when you cook it yourself.
