yes, this is semi complicated and depends on the childs grandparents eye color also.

Example, even though my father has brown eyes, HIS father had blue eyes and his mother BROWN, my mother has green eyes- her DAD had blue and her MOTHER green. My eyes came out brown due to brown domiation, BUT even though my eyes are brown, I carry the recessive gene for green inside of me. Same as my dad carried the recessive gene for blue inside of him and my mother had the gene for blue recessive in her. I could have come out with blue eyes because BOTH of them carried the recessive gene for blue eyes. Or even came out with ONE eye brown and the other eye blue, which my AUNT on my fathers side has. She inherited both her her mom and her fathers eye color at the same time, in different eyes. SO....it depends on the recessive and dominate traits carried within the parents and their parents. Brown almost always dominates over blue if one parent has brown and the other blue brown usually ends up the childs color, but brown can have recessive blue in it and when paired with the blue from the other parent causes blue to be DOMINATE anyhow, despite the brown generally dominating over blue see what Im saying?

It is possible. There are many families whose parents have brown eyes but the offspring gets blue eyes. I am talking of India There are strains from the time Alexander the great came to India. The mated with several women who now carry the strain. For instance many times I see boys with white skin and blue eyes born to ordinary Indians

Genetically speaking.. if 2 parents have brown eyes, they can have a child with different colored eyes.. just think if there is anyone in your family with a different eye color than you.. and there ya go, your child can have any color of eye...

The only thing that anyone should worry about is that a child of parents who both have BLUE eyes.. cannot have any other eye color than BLUE.. blue is recessive, which means that there is no way that 2 parents who both have blue eyes can have a child with any other eye color.

Both parents have Brown eyes ( B means brown and is Dominant ) (b means blue and is recessive)

yes. they can have a child with blue eyes, but only if they both have the resessive gene, and the child gets two copies of it. if each parent has a recessive gene for blue eyes, as well as the dominant gene for brown eyes, they will both have brown eyes, but their child may have blue eyes.

Here:

B= brown eye gene
b= blue eye gene

__B__b
B BB Bb
b Bb bb

Therefore, there is a 75% chance that the child will have brown eyes, but a 25% chance that the child has blue eyes. However, this is assuming that the parents both have the recessive gene.

Yes, but if both parents have blue eyes the baby will always have blue eyes.

Yes. Though brown eyes would be the dominant gene for the two of you, it is not uncommon for the baby to have eyes of a different color.

It's possible. It depends on the color of the parents eyes, the grandparents, etc. etc. The genetic makeup of a person doesn't only consist of their parents' DNA, but also that of previous generations. It could have been a recessive trait in both parents.

I have blue eyes, my husband brown but our daughter has hazel eyes. Obviously we both have recessive genes for hazel colored eyes.
My son has blue eyes...his dad (different dad) has hazel eyes.
It's all up to chance you know. It depends on what genes get together.

Yes it is, it is called GENETICS...that means the genes from both sets of grand parents, great grand parents, great great grandparents all the way back to the dawn of mankind. And umm Rowan you're wrong. Both of my parents have blue eyes. I have bronw/green hazel.
