What do you consider a real friend?

One in real life. She has always been there no matter what.
On the Internet. I have a few that I do dearly care about and they are there for me when I am sad. I am lucky to have them. Sadly there are times when we think we have a good friend only to find out later they do a runner on you. Best not to get too close to quick.
What I consider a friend. Someone that understands me and one that is always there no matter what the case.

In the real world, I mean friends that I have actually met, I have four close female friends, and one male friend. A real friend to me is one who I don't have to talk to or even see often. I know they are there, and they know I am. And if it came down to it, all I would have to say is "I need you." and there they would be. I hide nothing from my friends. And being able to laugh at the same things helps too.

About 3. A real genuine friend comes to my aid when I need them. Once I needed to be towed home at 3am because I hit a curb & buckled both front wheels. My best friend got out of bed at that hour & came to get me. I would do the same no matter what.

2. 1 has been my bestie since grade 2 when we used to smear vegemite on our faces. the other 1 has been my boyf for nearly 3 years and i love him to death. As in, I would have to kill him if he left me... A true friend loves you when not even your mother could. A true friend stands by you thru thick n thin. A true friend NEVER EVER judges you or makes u feel bad. A true friend will tell you the truth no matter what the consequence.

Thank God you got to it before me.
I wouldn't have phrased it quite as right.
I have only two friends on this website.
They're true friends because they're there for me, they actually care, they talk to me, they don't back out of conversations, they are honest with me, they don't talk about me behind my back, etc...
And i have only one friend in real life. Yes, you could consider this sad. But i thank God for her because she's amazing and all i could ever want in a friend. Of course, it's nice to make others but i haven't and will probably never find anyone on her level... Aside from my family of course :P But she's my sister inlaw which makes her family.

the question should be how many of you have a real friend? because most of us have none. people are self-serving and fickle leaving them unfit to be a good friend. if you've found one, feel lucky. I've thought I had one only to find that I did not.

A real friend is family you get to choose. Sooo. It is someone or several someones who stick with you & by you through thick & thin sometimes when family members give up on you.
