Take a piece of wax paper, lay it on top of the wax and then take an iron on low heat , rub it over the wax paper and the wax will warm up and stick to the wax paper. Or rub an ice cube over it until the wax hardens and it will peel off.

Put some ice in plasic bag. Then leave the ice bag on top of the wax. Let it sit on the wax for a while. Then the wax will get very cold and freeze. Take off the ice bag. Then take something hard (such as a hammer) then only slightly hit the wax directly. It will be brittle and crack and easily come off of the floor. You can also scrape it off with something such as a credit card after freezing the wax.

Mineral spirits is usually good on hardwood surfaces; and can penetrate into the wood farther than scraping it. you might try gently heating the area with a hairdryer BEFORE treating to melt the wax.....do not apply heat to mineral spirits: IT IS FLAMMABLE

Pour boiling hot water on the wax. It will help to melt it and you can just wipe it away. Wear an oven mitt when you wipe to avoid burning yourself.
