Personally I feel that I have to benefit people/help people and earn my money doing that.
So effectively I help others and in doing so help myself.
However doing a job like that(such as a nurse) would mean I would not be as rich as I could be(financially) and ppl out that treat those ppl with lesser money and heart in such a way that I feel bad and uncomfotable.

Like they make it such that you cant enjoy the little you have.
And I fear/worry that this will lead me to be a bad person down the line.
I have seen lots of ppl with heart and dedicate their lives either to their passion or helping others turn bitter and resentful afterwards cos ppl with no heart and just greed seem to get all the money and get treated well because of their money and get to walk over others with heart.

On the other hand if I let greed be my motivation, I will have a lot of money but I will only enjoy indulging myself with the money and not working for it because I feel like an exploiter of nature/man

Being selfish seems to lead to more rewards. But I dont want to become a selfish person and assosiate with selfish ppl.

Why is it that ppl with less than ideal qualities seem to hold all the power/wealth?

At the same time, I cant stand to see ppl that personify greed/selfishness get to reap all the rewards that being a good person should bring.

I know one should not be good merely for the purpose of being rewarded.

But I cant stand to see those who do not deserve it reap the rewards and those who should be rewarded have to be disrespected because they are not rich.

Which is the lesser of the 2 evils?
Should I be rich or just get by?

You are rich you have thought for others your joy from what you do and like to do is something that money can not buy.
so to have money does not do the rich any good as they will have to go through life with the worry of who is trying to steal their money that would be no good . they usually turn out to to head cases. turning to drink and drugs that is what they can look foreword to and when it comes to the end they can not take it with them or say they did the best in life. As for one that as been their best to help other can go with the knowledge the they did it and be satisfied thy did their best and those that they leave behind will always remember them as the one that care and tired their best to give not take.
You will never be tagged as being greedy or self-centred. so do not go in the way of the greedy you will end up regretting your life .

I have always worked just enough to pay my bills. Money may make the world go around, but in the end it's just green paper. If helping people is what makes you happy then do that. If money makes you happier than helping people then go for the higher paycheck. The great thing about the world today is that it enables for life changes easier. If at any time if your life you take a step back and think, "well, maybe i should have done this instead", if you're dedicated enough you can switch gears and work towards something else. Goals are flexible as long as you keep track of them and re-evaluate what you want from life often.

If you keep fretting about "what will become of me" then you won't be able to accomplish either. Yes, there will always be people that get more than they deserve and yes, there will always be people that will never get what they've earned.

All you can do is what makes YOU feel right. If you start feeling resentful or greedy then stop.

I'm a 911 dispatcher and one thing that our instructor in the academy kept telling us was "When you stop caring, GET OUT!"

You can do both. Becoming rich is simply a matter of being financially educated. This in no way is related to the motivations of your heart. In fact, if you get financially educated, you can start your own business doing whatever you feel you were put on this earth to do, and you may fail. But you also may succeed, and become incredibly wealthy and beneficial to society.

be a chemical engineer. You (can) do research into things like improving a medication on the molecular level. Or do another job in the biotech industry. You improve people health, thus their lives, plus chemical engineering is one of the top paid jobs in the country. On the other hand, it is not exactly an easy degree to get.

Also, you could be a surgeon. That is another high paying job that helps people.

Just compare the extrinsic value you will get by serving other to the intrinsic value you will get be earning more for yourself. People have different valutaion and therefore they choose different careers. So you are the one who has to figure that out. i.e how much money would you give up if you could make a person smile...etc

You don't have to be rich or just get by, if you have something that you really strife for, then go for it.
Pursue what you want with everything you have, you'll get the career you want and the money you want without losing yourself in the process.

I doubt you have what it takes to even become rich.
No, you clearly don't.

You better start loving to dress our wounds and empty our bedpans. Hold onto your morality of infinite guilt and that's your only option: stoicism at the whipping post, or worse: loving life as the best of all possible worlds!

Delusion is a good strategy, I highly recommend regimented religion for your tastes.

we are all in different stages of evolution (spiritual)and have different lessons to learn...we have lessons to learn..each one of us. they must be learned 1 aty a time, in order..maybe ur lesson for this lifetime is to b charitable to others, my lesson is to learn and serve the environment and maybe for others it is to learn the fleeting nature of wealth....but for that they need to earn money...we all are different.....if u feel inclined towards serving others then pay heed, thts ur calling..and purpose and lesson for this life....
