What are people's opinions on the all-star game determining home field advantage?

I think it's appaling. It's an exhibition game for crying out loud.
Best record should determine it, IMO. Baseball claims it would be too difficult to schedule it like that, but NBA and NHL do it, so why not?

Anyway, what do other people think?

A waste of time. And to determine home field in the world series is about as stupid as it gets.

I agree completely. My all-star game was great when people weren't so uptight and concerned with winning. The greatest moment I ever saw on TV occured in an all-star game several years ago with Randy Johnson on the mound. He threw a wild pitch over the batter's head. The hitter, a lefty, between pitches switched to the other batter's box, turned his helmet around, and finished the at-bat right-handed. (I forgot who the batter was.) My point is that the game is more fun when it's not taken so seriously.

Besides, why should the World Series, a game between 2 teams, be influenced by the other 28 teams.

it is not right to let this game mean anything but fan appreciation.the fans vote for the players they want to see and they should be able too see all of them play regardless of the score.that was the whole point.as far as it being too difficult to schedule by their record.what in the world are they talking about.when you get down to the two teams that are going to the world series, the team with the best record gets home field advantage.if both teams have the same record then the team with the best home record gets it.it is that simple.

Best interleague play record should determine it, but if it was that way the AL would still always win because very few NL teams do good against AL except the Cardinals and a few others. But what would the MLB all-star game be if it were this way(FOX needs this).

The powers that be believe it is more interesting for fans. I hate it. It is an exhibition game and should be treated as such. Best record should always be the home team.

yeah i'm bumped on the subject of the tmac component to. comparable component happend final 12 months. he grew to become into in simple terms before Iverson whilst he reported he wasn't gonna play and everybody stopped vote casting for him. except if he does nicely on his return, i do no longer component the coaches are gonna vote him into the line up. it would be candy to work out yet another self alleoop of the glass via tmac. Yao is the only midsection that merits to initiate on the west. it is not by way of fact he's playing like a shaq in his top yet by way of fact the league in simple terms would not have as many particularly good huge men like it did in the previous. rather it particularly is Yao, dwight Howad and shaq as of overdue. no person else. Rasheed wallace and consistent with threat whilst Jermaine O'neal's healthful could be 2 different men to look at. If purely Amare nonetheless performed midsection. He ought to be in the blend. i ask your self how dwight howard have been given maximum of votes. Oh yeah on the subject of the AI component. it particularly is Allen Iverson. He continuously playes nicely in allstar video games. no person provides candy alleyoop passes like he does. he's actual exciting to observe. component is he's discovering to improve into extra of a team participant.

I think that the way that they only do it this way because of tradition. Thye have been doing like this for so long, they don't want to change it. Although it would make more sense your way it would just be to much of a change and too confusing. Thats what I think anyway.
