eg the type of cereal you have for breakfast, the questions you ask, whether you decide to walk to school or take the bus, eg?

Absolutely. Every event in the universe has a cause and effect. For instance, the cereal you ate this morning might have contained a high sugar content, which in turn had more of a chance to temporarily increase your energy level or even cause a semi-hyperactive state.

Walking to the school bus you might spot a dog or a cat nearby and run over to pet him, which you may not have done had you not been in such an energized state. He could bite you, causing injury and trauma. The owner, standing nearby, would feel very guilty or perhaps be angry at you for petting without asking first.

Later in school you could be upset from the incident and not concentrate as well as usual, especially since your high sugar intake is now bottoming out and causing your energy levels to 'crash.' You might miss vital information during a lecture, which, in turn can translate into a poor grade. And we don't have to tell anyone that poor grades aren't good.

Conversely, you could be angry after the morning incident and tick someone off with an aggressive or grouchy attitude, giving him the wrong impression of you, and causing him to pull away. This is the guy, by the way, who was interested in you and would've become your boyfriend and husband.

But now that you're grouchy, listless, and have bad grades, other eventualities will come into play that will end up landing you in a lower quality relationship and marriage, and you'll pass this marital angst onto your kids.

Moral: throw out Cap'n Crunch and replace it with a veggie omelet and soy milk. They'll keep your energy levels consistent, and be beneficial to your overall health!

Ah yes, and just to give you more 'food' for thought, I will present as an epilogue my all-time favorite quote, written by W. H. Murray from his Scottish Himalyan Expedition, which might potentially fly in the face of the aforementioned:

Until one is committed
there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back,
always ineffectiveness.
Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation),
there is one elementary truth,
the ignorance of which kills countless ideas
and splendid plans:
that the moment one definitely commits oneself,
then Providence moves too.
All sorts of things occur to help one
that would never otherwise have occurred.
A whole stream of events issues from the decision,
raising in one's favour all manner
of unforeseen incidents and meetings
and material assistance,
which no man could have dreamt
would come his way.

I have learned a deep respect
for one of Goethe's couplets:
'Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it.
Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.'

No.

Not every little choice, but some may.

Choosing whether to get a Dr. Pepper or a Sprite probably isn't going to change the path/course of your life after your finished drinking it. Neither will choosing to dry yourself off with a blue towel instead of a yellow one after you taker a shower.

But, if you happened to come across a girl that loves Dr. Pepper and wanted a sip and you would have never talked to her if it was a Sprite instead and thus never married her, then in that case it did change the path of your whole life.

The butterfly effect crap, at least the extreme type, falls apart pretty easily. The proponents think up of some huge story that was caused by wiping your *** 4 times instead of 3. The major FLAW is that even if you can come up with a plausible story of how wiping your *** one extra time can change your entire life, that does not mean that huge life changes are made by every single little decision you make. You can wipe your *** one extra time without marry a different person or dying 20 years sooner.

Yes, every decision you make can change your life in the long run, some effect might not be immediate, others might mean life or death to you or those around you. Just like the decision of others around will affect you. The saying of what is done cannot be undone. For example, if you decided to drive during a raining day, you might slid and knock onto something or someone, but if you don't, you avoid that possibility, but . . . The final outcome will change. That's life.

Yes, I believe every conscious decision that you make has a huge impact on the rest of your day and possibly the rest of your life. Even which towel you use! If the towels are hanging side by side and you choose the one on the right, closest to you, the next family member in the shower will have to reach further than they would have if you had chosen the one on the left. This could cause them to slip and fall while reaching the extra 10" for the towel and, while not seriously injured, it causes you to call out of work to care for them. By not going to work, you avoid a traffic accident that would have otherwise taken your life that very morning. Now your life has been saved by your decision to use the yellow towel and you never even know it.

The question and the way you ask and the motive of knowing things definitely make a change in your life. If you ask and want to find out evil things. You will be positively change in that direction because those things will be in your mind that drives you towards it. Think good and act good. Know good.

Yes, I do, if you think of the butterfly effect (by the way, watch the movie, it's amazing).
I also think that even other people's little choices can change our life path.

Any action has the POTENTIAL to change it, but obviously, not all actions do.

Same as a match has the potential to burn your house down, but clearly not all do.
