If Im not getting anything out of college...should I stay in it just to say that I have a degree?

Im in my 4th year....I just got my real estate license and Im about to go to work for a broker and try that out for a little while. I have only stayed in college because my parents are paying for it and supporting me while im in school but Im just not getting anything out of it and I am planning on quitting at the end of this semester but everyone is trying to talk me out of it...

Follow your heart. Don't make yourself unhappy to please others. If anything, see if you can compromise. Change your major to something that may help you in real estate, like economics, business, management, or even communications (like public relations). Overall, I think you should follow your heart and do what will benefit you.

Students are doomed to do well in school when they are there because they want to be there and not because their parents want them to.

So maybe you should think about this, if its your fourth year you are not far from finishing. Can you drop to half time or less time and do both things at the same time?

Are you sure that this is what you want, and that your parents will pay for you the next time you enroll if you decide to go in?

What about changing your major and doing something that captures your attention some more?

Is it that you are depressed?

I would suggest that before you do anything so big and impacting, you speak with a school counselor so that they can help you determine what is best. Your parents should also be aware of all this because they are the one sacrificing their money for you to get an education that most people only dream about.

I pay for my own education, loans, grants you name it, I struggle and stress, cry and sometimes feel like this is it, but I don't give up, perhaps by knowing this, you too can continue making the effort to take one more step, graduate and just get out.

if your not into something, then get out of it
if you pay 7 bucks to go see a movie in the movie theater, and 30 minutes into the movie, the movie is a pure dog, boring, horrible acting, etc. You know that the movie is 2.5 hours, would you waste 2 hours of your day watching something that is just garbage, that you dont even like. The answer should be no. The 7 bucks is sunk, done with it, no matter what you do its gone

you made a semi-informed decision to go to the movie, but it turns out you made a bad decision. Dont make another bad decision and waste 2 hours of your day watching something you cant stand.

Now, although that is straight forward, college is a tad different. The degree is definatley a symbol of status in todays world, and even though u think ur getting nothing out of it, i think you should stick with it, ESPPPPP if you are 4 yeas into it. Also someone else is paying for it.

MARK MY WORDS, somewhere at sometime u will wish u had that degree. That, i guarantee. Stick with it

It's your life & people do quit right b4 they finish. It's up 2 U. Will look like a quitter, if that is what U want then quit. What will life b like if U quit? No degree, or job U studied 4 yrs 2 get. Throwing money away - Can U live w/ urself ( or ur 'rents?) What is Ur plan 4 work & income? Will life get better ? At this point, you have gotten so far, you might as well finish it. It has been my experience that the value employers place on a bachelor's degree is primarily that you had the wherewithal to stick something out and complete a task. So even if your career path is set with real estate, I say get the degree since you're 99% of the way there already.

I'm a little bored with it but if I complete, I will have an easier time finding jobs, I won't feel inferior to others who had the guts to stay, and I will please my family who love me. well since you have your reality estate license then i do not see y you can not quite i mean its not like you do not have anything to fall back on and then later on if you descide you want to go back then go back it is ok to take a break from college. Just do finish out this semseter. or why dont you take a break and then go for your associate degree at least then you do have a degree then if you want to return you can go for something that really interest you and get a better degree and skip all the other nonsense that you had to go through.
