Sometimes when I retrieve a composition from my floppy this message comes up: "This file as specified in the execution parameters cannot be opened". What is meant? Why does it appear? How can I avoid it?

Don't try to open files in your floppy disk.

Copy it on your desktop and open it there.

Whenever you open a file, like in Microsoft Word for example. The program creates temporary files with the the file or files you open. This is often written on the same media where the file was open.

Since floppies have limited space and sometimes near full, the temporary files cannot be created.

This also happens on floppy files with damaged media.

The media(floppy) has got some bad sectors or the file is corrupted.

Download a software called as Any Reader from net. This can recover corrupted files. Save the file on your hard disk.
