I honestly don't think it can. After surviving my senior year of H.S., my brother going to Iraq, and several family crisises, not to mention my family's "normal" behavior along with other things, I would probably be completely there. I don't feel completely sane, but I seem to better than a lot of people in that department...so I think as long as you are doing average compared to other people you will be okay. However, if depression can....then I am so screwed. Take me with you!!

Everyone I knew who'd led very stressful lives ended up with Alzheimer's or brain tumors. So I'm mellowing out.

It can create chemical imbalances that affect your decision-making capacity and sense of reason. Whether or not this will constitute insanity, I cannot say.

i don't know about it leading to insanity, but it can surely make you physically ill. and many ppl have had psychotic breaks due to stress overload.
