Charlize Theron is South African, she is an Afrikaaner, the whites from Holland who moved to S.A in the 1800s they were very poor but landed on gold mines became rich and managed to control the majority blacks through the apartheid. They have been ruling S.A like forever till Nelson Mandela become president. That's why you will find white Zimbabweans, white Namibians Africa is their home been so for generations. Its similar to how the white Americans controlled Red Indians and took over their land, Aboriginals being sidelined by white Australians. She is South African through and through. But am not really sure that she is a natural blonde i thought she was a brunette

Hmmm... well then I must be the odd one out. I have extremely dark hair naturally. So to answer your question, no, not all white people in South Africa are blonde. And @ Rosana - The white population in South Africa is actually very diverse. the Afrikaans population may have a mostly Dutch heritage but the rest of us have British, German, Austrian, Italian, Portuguese, French, Irish etc heritages. And the English speaking population is bigger than the pure Afrikaans one.

South Africa was settled by whites and has been governed by whites until recently. If she was to state her heritage it would be South African. Now you can trace her family and it would probably be Dutch and Scandinavian. I would consider her hair natural blonde. Best of luck to you!!

You obviously dont know much about S. Africa. It was settled by the Dutch originally, in fact, S. Africa would be as poverty stricken and plagued with death and disease like all the rest of Africa if it werent for the Dutch. This is another reason why the term "African American" is ridiculous to describe people of color. A white person of S. African descent who immigrates to America could reasonably be called an "African American".

If you dont like reading history or geography books, try renting the movie, "Breaker Morant".

There are a number of people in South Africa that are descended from European settlers (Dutch, Danish, German, English).

It is no different than people of Asian, African or Hispanic descent that live in the US calling themselves Americans.
