Or do you stand in line? If it's just a few items, I use the self check out, but if I'm buying a full bill of groceries, I'd probably be there for a few hours lol.

Only if I don't have any produce or alcohol. I hate waiting for the attendant to come over to put in the codes!

I'm the same..when it's just a few things i prefer self check hands down..but when it's pantry restocking time (once a week in my house!! lol) i use the reg. line..i figure it would be kinda rude anyway..me standing there forever ringing stuff up while people behind me w' a couple of items look at me evil..I guess i view them as having the same rules as the express lanes.

I only use the self checkout if I have a few items. Otherwise, it seems to take me longer than the traditional lines.

Well most the time I yell at a friend to open a line up for me if I'm in a big hurry. I use it at walmart sometimes when I run in to get water and drinks. It's faster if you just have a fews things to pick up

Yes i do when i have a few items. I have been in a self-check out where some dumb chick has a whole cart full. It drives me nuts.

I use to be a cashier, about 15 years ago, and I use self checkout whenever possible. I find cashiers today are not well trained in the appropriate way to bag items and it annoys me.

Only for one or two items. I always mess up on larger amounts. I am with you on the more numerous items and seek the services of a checkout clerk.

I just don't use them -- it is not worth my time, and in my experience -- there are errors all the time in the processing of the items -- it does not read properly, items are having to be scanned twice, three times or more, and just is a royal pain in the back side to use.

if i have like 3 items, i'll do self-check because there's no lines to save time. but if it's a lot, no way in hell am i going to check them myself!! these stores are just trying to save money by hiring less people, like they always do. if they could, they'd make the store run itself with no employees at all.
