Karma. What goes around comes around. The white man thought that he was superior to all other people. He has recently found out that he is the same 99.99% as human as the rest of us. He also found out that we r all the same deep inside and that there is no real difference. We R one race. Now that the rest of the world is catching up the Whites r starting to feel intimidated by the education of the rest and r having feelings of inferiority where they once felt superior. This of course is just my opinion. I have a melting pot of people in my bloodline from many different old world countries and who r now also continuing to melt with new world people and I love them all.

I don't know where this is coming from. My ancestry is Scottish, Cree and German. My wife's ancestry is German, Ukrainian, Mexican and Cree. What are we? My son has the ancestry of three groups who were never accepted traditionally.

I will admit that I have accepted that people classify me as Caucasian and though I have Cree ancestry, they have never thought of me as Native or Metis. My wife has regained her Metis status recently by pointing out that the prerequisite is having a mixture of Cree and Caucasian blood, not specifically Cree, Irish and French. Since I don't live anywhere near a reserve, I do not care.

As far as I am concerned, my wife is of mixed race. It is not so important to me to have the card. I have nothing to prove. I still think Natives would be happier if they integrated more into mainstream society but I cannot excuse acts of racism or the lack of recognition of their traditional culture. I think the government is right to focus on improving economic conditions, an issue more important to me than self-government. I am not against reserves if they become productive like the ones out here but I feel that isolationism as a goal is a bad idea.

I even ought to assert I agree. ¨equivalent probability¨ is something yet. they ought to give up even soliciting for race on employment and faculty applications and purely pick whoever is better qualified. Race shouldn´t also be a ingredient. I keep in mind that doesn´t artwork with employment in view that in a good number of cases there'll be a face-to-face interview formerly. It´s completely not good that someone who's larger qualified can get handed up on a job probability because they take position to be white. yet I do understand the different area of it that there are employers who does not employ someone who replaced into black, hispanic, etc; in the journey that they legally might want to. It´s a problematical difficulty that likely has no ordinary answer. as far as hate crimes... i idea that whites may be victims of hate crimes, yet may be incorrect. after all i imagine the time period ¨hate crime¨ is overused. except the perpetrator made racist or derogatory comments, it´s problematical to instruct if the crime replaced into racially brought on, if it replaced into personal (the perp felt that the vic had indirectly ¨wronged¨ him), a normal case of being contained in the incorrect position on the incorrect time, or if the act replaced into thoroughly random.

GREED and irrationality is the reason whites think they are being discriminated against. Now everyone is entitled to the same benefits and job opportunities and political power and success aspirations and the POWER and CONTROL that used to be isn't as dominant as it was before. There are still areas that really need work but it's getting to that point and eventually we will ALL be equal in every aspect of the word.

Personally I think the whole race thing needs to stop and that means with ALL races, our country is so full of all races that any race that is signaled out is just wrong anymore, there should be no special point to point out people solely because of their race, because it IS encouraging prejudice. 2 wrongs do not make a right, we are trying to teach our children to be equal, but it is not an EQUAL race out there, and until it is these anger rages will continue. Parents GET A GRIP and stop teaching favoritism or prejudice to your children because it starts in the home and ends on the streets. I think no matter what our race we have experienced some type of prejudice, I have and I am white, my husband has and he is Hispanic, my children because they are mixed. CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG........

Because sometimes they ARE.

If you are not a racist and don't believe in a superior race, why would you expect only one race to be comprised of all the racists? I mean that would mean the white race was in fact inferor which would kill your hypothesis.

Anyway, I've SEEN racism in non-whites before.

Does that mean that the white conqueror were not horrible @$#holes? Nope. But then again, read the discriptions of some of the other ruthless conquerors over the centuries like the Mongols, the Arabs (they were not as nice as you may first be lead to believe). Look at some of the evils that have happened in Afica between blacks from different tribes; i.e., Rowanda.

I see your point. No, if Caucasians did this, they would be called Nazis, b/c they are the only ones who have a hard-on regarding the "White Race" (which is bull sh*t)...anyways. Yeah, for the most part, Caucasians are the majority in the US, so if those who are of a racial minority, what is the problem for them to carve out their own special shows, or whatever. The guy who posted this question is either just playing "devil's advocate" or is a racist. Don't let it get ya down luvy. Not all white pple think this way.

I'm white. In general I do not think white people are discriminated against but it does happen. To assume otherwise is very naive. Whenever anyone, no matter what their background, is in a position where they are the minority, they have the potential to be discriminated against. I've had it happen to me in very minor situations but it was because I happend to be the odd man out. I was the only white person among another race of people and I was singled out and made to feel unwelcome. Why? Because I was white.

As for awards and special days for minorities...I feel it is unnecessary and would think that those racial groups would find it offensive. If I were recognized for something great in my field of study--which right now is nutrition--then I'd want to be recognized for my work, not because I was the first woman to do whatever in the field of nutrition. I'd feel like my work was somehow being overshadowed by the fact that I'm a woman. That would be the focus rather than my work. I'm surprised that other people don't feel that way. If so and so was the first black person to do whatever or so and so did something great--why would we need to focus on their color? They're just a person who did something great.

Plus, I'm 32 years old. When I was school we learned a lot about black artists, poets, inventors. One of my all time favorite poets/writers is Langston Hughes. I even wanted to name one of my children after him. I learned about him because I had a teacher that liked him, not because it was black history month and we were being force fed politically correct propoganda. My husband is fascinated by the Cheyenne Indians. He loves anything to do with them. He knows a lot about them. He embraces their culture because it just clicks with him. It isn't because he was told he should be more open to other cultures. I think a lot of people are open and appreciative of other cultures but when it is shoved down your throat or thrown in your face then you become resentful of it.

If we are going to have Latin Grammy Awards then the latinos should not be allowed to win in the Grammy Awards. Plain and simple. Why are they being singled out? Should we just have the White Grammy Awards? Blacks and Latinos are huge in the music industry and they *are* recognized for it so why do they need their own awards?

Right here in this own question you've shown a prejudice against white people. You imply that whites steal land and spread disease. It shows you know little about history and it shows that you have your own prejudices. So, why wouldn't whites feel discriminated against?

2006-11-16 18:06:46 · answer #8 · answered by Amelia 5 · 4 1

In the modern age, we are being discriminated against because we are not allowed to voice our opinions and concerns in an open forum without being beat over the head with the word "racist". --Which is a word that doesn't seem to apply to any other race or creed except for caucasion people. (I guess it's one of those 'white' characteristics?)

How do whites today deserve anything because of what whites have done in the past? That is reverse discrimination on your part: you want to lump together all whites as a perpetrating race of people.

You my dear, are the racist.

Yes, but you just pointed out in your question that it was our ancestors that did all those things, not us.

Now, I am not racist, just to let you know. And it's not just white people that are racist. Black people can be racist too. I hear black people say bad things about white people all the time. Now, you have to ask yourself, how many times have you recently heard someone discriminate against black people? Maybe once in a while, but I've got to say that black people cut white people down a lot. But once again I will state that I am not racist in any way, shape or form, I just wanted to point that out.
