Too late!!!!
Males should not be housed with the female as she will be pregnant immedieatley she has given birth. If you leave them together she will drop a litter every 18 to 21 days. You will need to find somewhere that can take all those babies regulary so I advise keeping males and females apart.
Males will not usually eat the young but the mother may if she is constantly disturbed by the male. Also if you handle the young and put your scent on them she may kill them because she thinks that a predator has been in the nest.
Take the male away and leave the mother alone as much as possible until the young are walking around and feeding on the food you put in for the mother.
She may drop a second litter before the older babies are quite ready to leave her.
When the babies are one month old seperate them from mum and split the sexes as the males are fertile at five weeks. If you are going to keep breeding you will need lots of homes for these wonderful little animals.

Yes they need to be separated, the males will kill the babies in an attempt to have the females available for breeding again.

I believe the different answerer. only enable them to be for some weeks. After which you would be able to placed out an advert contained in the newspaper for toddler gerbils, or take them to a puppy shop which will settle for them, or you may carry them to an animal seem after.
