Will a Nintendo Wii console (Japan Version) be able to play Wii Games (U.S versions)?

unfortunately, no. the consoles are like dvd players- they have certain regions they can play and that's it. you would have to send it in to get modified, and that would cost almost as much as buying the american version. the reason for this is so that the developers from each side of the lake are getting their own markets. less importing, more profit. the same goes for the ps3.

Nintendo said that all Wii games will be region-free. However some companies said they will put a software region block on their games. So most games should work, however some may not.
