Meditate,
If you are like me. Your mind thinks like having several radios on at the same time. Having several trains of thought at the same time, was giving me headaches. Meditation helps to quiet the insistant thoughts as they try to take mastery of your mind. With meditation, you can tame those beasts to preform as you desire.
I believe it to be a symptom of ADD. I had it as a child and still struggle with the symptoms still today. But with meditation I have learned to filter the unneeded thoughts and focus on the important thoughts at that time. It takes practice, find time to devote at least 10 minutes every day to this excercise.
Here is the Technique that I started with:
Find a comfortable place
close your eyes
Picture in your minds eye
A vase of pure crystal
note the curves
and ornate detail
feel the weight of the vase and its heft as you lift it up
smell the scent of jasmine and dafodil that inhabit the vase
remove the plants from the vase
and listen as the water pours out .
place the vase back on its pedastal
fade the light to black
watch as the vase slow disappears into the coming darkness
when all is black
think on only the nothingness
as you float weightless in the blank of your mind.
don't try to count the time or sense its inexorable flow
slowly drift back into awareness of your actual physical surroundings.
Take a deep Breath
and Exhale.
Hope this helps
Don't worry if you can't do It all right away, like I said it takes Practice

Hahaha. What have you been smoking/sniffing, man?
If you can put your thought on hold then you would never get to post this question.
For you to realise that there may be something wrong with your brain - you need to have THOUGHT about it. So, thinking is good! keep doing it.

Try meditation.
Try writing out your thoughts.
Try reading.
Or just accept it and listen to your brain.
Thinking is a good thing. :)

Obviously you should work towards controlling your thoughts though. That should help.
