Are we the cause of our own circumstances, whether accidental or not? If something totally beyond our control happened to us, did we some how cause it through our conscious and subconscious thoughts and intentions?

Some of its principles make sense to me, ok, but...

I still question the motives behind some of the people who are so "on fire" trying to sell it. I mean, some of the folks I have seen and heard of getting on this bandwagon seem to be trying to hard-sell this one as "fake it until you make it, v2.0" and it isn't....

And even so. I really think people are being willfully naive on one *big* issue...what I will informally call the "support group" factor.

Namely, that it is *always* easier to meddle in the affairs of others and to try to "fix" others than it is to fix yourself and mind your own business. You see this in support groups (or at least I have) where it becomes easier for fellows in the group to brainstorm and solve *someone else's problems*, and that is the positive side to it.

And I really *really* think with the Law of Attraction, you also see more than a bit of this with the *negative* side of reality, that it's easier to "mark" other people and attract things to them than it is to do the same for ourselves. I mean, if you see someone and all you ever think about them is "Well, he's just that fat, ugly, obnoxious old turd on the bus," and that is all you *know* about the guy, thinking more positive things about him becomes a LOT harder.

So people get marked by the passing ill will of others, and that passing ill will ends up attracting negative consequences to these others *even in the clear absence* of flagrant attacks and abuse. And I really think people are being *willfully* naive about this one, and being *deliberately* callous when it comes to people who either *have* suffered a lot in life (the standard answer seems to be either "So What?" or "Get Over It.") or who are *currently* suffering because large chunks of their lives ARE NOT in their direct control.

I mean, folks seem to grasp for straws sometimes, looking for ANY excuse to say, "Well, people aren't ever poor unless it's ALL their fault, the lazy bums," or "Well, people aren't ever abused by other so-called human beings unless they 'deserve' it." When the truth of the matter lies more with a Randian Banality of Evil, in that the poverty and suffering of others is *so* common that it may well be one of the few *truly universal* experiences of our kind, and we are *all the worse off for it*.

And I get why some of that is the case. People *want* others to believe that the Law of Attraction is easy. And for some people, it *is*, ok, one online buddy of mine is well on his way to becoming a *social* Master of the Universe courtesy of his applying the Law of Attraction.

But why can we *not* admit that for some folks, the climb is not only longer but of a steeper, more vertical grade, and that *some of us* can't just "think happy thoughts" and fly right away?

Is this "Law", like so many other articles of *faith*, really so fragile, that it falls apart on the first serious test or question?

I should hope not, but you never know. I'm willing to give it a fair chance in spite of the deliberate callousness of its exponents....but I shouldn't have to qualify that statement, you know?

Hope this helps. :)

I saw a movie on this once called The Secret and it was so completely accurate. It basically all goes back to positive thinking. For instance .. every other sentence out of my husbands mouth is "I think I'm getting sick." The next week, he's got the cold or something. In fact last week he got the flu and gave it to me! I'm not sick anymore but now he has an ear infection. Now me, I know I'm not going to get sick, but when he got sick I literally said "Now I'm going to get sick," and I did. Positive thinking brings positive things to you. The same with negative things. Before I go to bed I thank God for a good day and pray that tomorrow is even better, and when I wake up I thank Him for letting me see another day. Just a good habit to have if you ask me. I rarely have bad days, and they are usually when I forget to pray and don't go to church. Just something to think about. God Bless.

Kind of, we do a lot of things consciously and subconsciously. the way we feel for another people sometimes are uncontrollable, we have to make sure we put ourselves in are right for us and that person. If you and that person feels strongly attracted to each other and have girlfriend you love you sure not hangout with her.
