I am a graduating student (hopefully :-) ) and I am now going to register myself for the thesis project. It just happens that the previous group I joined with are all full-time students. Thinking about the things that I can't do for them, (I am a regular emplyee and is off from work by 6.) say, whenever we have meetings we have to met after six because of my work. Whatever we will do, it must be after six.
So with these concerns, me and my friend (who is also working) decided to start a new group, since we are both working. Our time is the same. Now, the question is, would it be alright if I say good bye to my previous group?

I like the answer above. And, who knows? Maybe your original group would be glad to see you find a more accommodating group. If it were me, I'd try my hardest to meet with BOTH groups. But, I'm an obsessive student.

Say to them, "No harsh feelings, but I'm working with other people so you don't have to wait on me". That way, it shows that you have consideration for them, not to mention their precious time.
Unless you're rich, you have to work. You have to have some way to support yourself, so don't let anyone make you feel like a bother for doing your part. Money makes the world go around, and until you get the education to make the money, you have to deal with the time constrictions.

Anyway, I got off topic. It's fine- don't worry about it. There are much bigger problems in the world. :)

Hello! This is still a free country. Yes, if it fits your schedule youre not obligated to your other group. Good luck. If they don't understand it's their loos not yours . You must do what works best for you.
