Ok, so i had my xbox 360 out in my living room, and i hooked it to the cable modem by just taking out the wire that was already plugged into the back of the modem, and plugging in the ethernet wire i got with my 360. and it worked perfectly. Then i bought a 25 foot cable so i could try and have it hooked up for online and play it in my room. so i unplugged it, brought it in my room hooked the ethernet cable up to the modem like i had it out in the living room, and tried, and it said, that either my profile wasnt valid, or it was a network problem. Wat could cause this? I think it isnt my profile because i tried to make a new one and it said i couldnt connect to xbox live. I did a connectivity test, and it says its my IP. Would this be because i unplugged it and tried plugging it back in?

No it should be fine unless some settings could have just got messed up somehow. My computer used to do that on it's own a year ago and it wouldn't let me connect to xbl unless I called and had to go through some steps with my internet provider to make sure everything was right. I would call microsoft first(1-800-4MY-XBOX) and see what they have to say and who you should call though, they'll most likely direct you to your internet provider though.

you're able to have a crossover cable... i used to standby and bridge on halo 2 over xbox stay... and you're able to be able to offer information superhighway on your xbox out of your computing device yet you in simple terms could have a crossover cable and bridge the community connections. or it wont paintings...
