I learned in less than 30 minutes.
I sell cars & have used my learning experience to teach others. It usually takes me about 30 mins to teach others the basics.

About ten minutes. My dad bought me a car that was manual and took me out in the country and said "drive or you can't keep the car." So I drove and learned to shift in a few minutes. Became second nature very quickly.

2 hours to get the basics, and about an hour on the road. My daughter learned by me forcing her to drive my car as me as a passenger. After learning well enough and me being satisfied, I gave her a VW Cabrio with a 5-speed!

It took me about 2 weeks. That was driving a car that I had to roll down hill and pop the clutch; in the hilly town of Atlanta.

in about an hour. my friend had asked me if i would drive her home if she got real drunk and than i could take the car home that night. I said no prob and took a cab to the bar. closing time came and she was too drunk to drive home. Little did i know that she drove her BF car and it was a stick. good thing it was late at night because i kept stalling, but had it down in no time.

The first time I attemped to drive a standard..my girlfriend tried to teach me.. after 3 hurs I gave up..I could only get started in 2nd gear...The next time I attempted to master a stick shift was 9 months later and my dad bought me a standard after about 40 minutes i was taking off smoothly ect....

only about 3 15 minute sessions. After that it took me about 2 weeks till I was shifting perfectly.

It took me a couple of months (when I was about 15 years old). I was not very good but I got better. I only drive manual now ... cuz I have a cool lil sports car!!!!
