i think it should. Everytime i go for a little drive i often see parents smoking in their cars with their children inside them. It absolutely sickens me because the children have to breath the cigarette air. Some parents leave their windows closed.

Oh my gosh i know exactily what you mean.My best friend does it. Her and Her mom with the windows rolled up and i was telling her that it wasnt good for her son. Heck it isnt good for anyone to be inhaling smoke especially with the windows rolled up.That to me is like giving your child a death sentence or something.People who dont smoke that are sitting with pple who smoke are getting more of that smoke than the actual smoker i took a class at WIC and they told us about it. Yes i think it should be banned as well

I don't agree with parents doing that, but to ban it would be a serious infringement upon our rights. I realize it's infringing upon the rights of the minors by not giving them a choice, but technically, minors don't have "rights" in the same way adults do.
Now, it is completely disgusting to me to see a parent smoking in the car or house with their child, but if it were banned, it would open the door for more laws that invade the privacy and property of the American people.
I would hope that before a ban on this were enforced, the government would pass a law requiring people to pass a test for child rearing. But again, an infringement on our rights.
People *should* know better.

****

Oh, and I would like to add, that the government obviously could care less about what choices a child has- they have no problem with circumcision, which is a violation of human rights.
So it would be good if smoking in a car with kids was banned, it would open the way for banning of GM and other atrocities that are embraced by this effed up society of ours.

I agree with the smoking in cars, with children riding, [my parents would do that and I would beg then not too, I felt like I was choking], but if we make it a law, how far will human rights, be regimented?WE don't want big brother, even in a world where a lot of parents could use a class on child rearing!! Unfortunately we can't force people to take child care classes, even if it is a good idea.

I say we should just put all the smokers in one country (or perhaps a deserted island?) so that they all can die from each other's smoke. Maybe then they would realize how much damage second-hand smoke really does, although some of them are so arrogant about their smoking that they would probably still be in denial.

I mean come on, there is an age limit on smoking for a reason! If second hand smoke is dangerous even for adults, then it is that much more dangerous for children.

Contrary to smokers, I agree with you, I grew up in a smoking house and I have to tell you when I was about 17 I started craving cigarettes, I could taste it in my mouth, it was the weirdest thing, but I thought oh boy don't start you will regret it. Fortunately I never took up the habit, but of 8 kids 4 are smokers and 4 are not. Of the 4 they have all tried to stop smoking several times but have not succeeded.

What a GREAT idea! As a matter of fact, I think it should be illegal to smoke around children anywhere at all.

Yes I think so........they think it's going out the window, but we (the people who don't smoke) know that this is not true.
